i love jirachi so much, ever since christmas morning 2003. i got a gold gba sp and was on a hot streak in pokemon pinball ruby & sapphire, so i kept playing that until i got an event i'd never seen with this glowy thing that wasn't on my pokedex poster. i legit thought i discovered a new pokemon.

drawing of the artist as a child holding a gold game boy advance sp, staring up in awe at the pokemon jirachi emerging from the screen in a burst of light and sparkles.

yeah, the more i looked at the curves of the helmet it definitely seems based on like bike helmets. and idk if it's just from growing up where hurricanes happen but these kinda hats with flap things were kinda common

010

Jax Pool @jaxpool.bsky.social · 04/06/2026

started trying to at least make sense of their headgear. reminds me of rain hats? like a cross between one of those and a bike helmet? there's probably a lot you could manage with craft foam.

these days, especially where i am, it's the little things that bring me joy. including working for a retailer that didn't flip on queer people at the first opportunity unlike some others i could mention. happy pride.

my brain immediately went to lady and the tramp but carrions.

sketch of the quoted post's scenario, a cartoony crow and a cartoony turkey vulture looking lovingly into each others' eyes while eating some kind of roadkill. the "roadkill" in the drawing is just a mosaic-ed out scribble. text in the background says "~so thiiiiis is the niiiight~" which are lyrics from bella notte from lady and the tramp.

ok i've started decorating around the truck and had to add a nod to my favorite pokemon easter egg. in frlg specifically, if you can surf before the s.s. anne leaves to reach where the truck is, further down the dock is a hidden lava cookie. so i put a plate of cookies roughly where that'd be!

pokopia screenshot of the "truck" now surrounded by wooden crates as "cargo", and nearby is a lone crate with a plate of cookies on top.

050

Jax Pool @jaxpool.bsky.social · 15/05/2026

from afar it looks even better! probably need to paint it to make it look more believable but i'm proud of how the basic shape looks. it's made with curved eaves, concrete pipes, pulleys, iron-scaffold planks for the truck bed, iron enclosures, flat tent roof pieces, and blocks.

screenshot of the "truck" made in pokopia showcased in the previous post from a distance

something i'd love to see in a future pokopia event/dlc is a space-themed habitat with space-themed pokemon! doodled up a possible habitat i'm calling "alien crash site" made up of the spaceship model, a boulder, and a meteor lamp. and an outfit for ditto called "star twin costume"!

that happened to me in maryland one year. snowed around easter. mom got these shots of our neighbor's dogwood tree and a very confused robin.

my headcanon/guess is the professor that wrote the records is prof oak, but not samuel oak. i think it's blue. the record you find on a dream island that unlocks red's look more or less says red's an older man now, so it could be as blue got older he followed in his gramps' footsteps.

Screenshot from Bulbapedia of a Human Record from Pokopia

Poké Week Issue 122

"After decades of requesting interviews with a certain legendary Trainer and former Champion of the Kanto region, we finally managed to get an exclusive meeting!

"The photo he wordlessly showed us was a familiar and memorable sight: himself as a smiling young boy, surrounded by his Pokémon.

"(To the editing department: FYI, this reporter is personally a huge fan of the former Champion and could not stop crying after the interview.)"

is it 3am? yes. could i not sleep until i made this dumb edit? also yes. did i scour bulbapedia's archive for like 3 minutes to find the perfect angle kyogre art, carefully erase the stuff around it, just for the one blåhaj that faces the camera? also also yes.

Photo of several young men riding an escalator, each carrying Ikea's large shark plush, but edited so the sharks are replaced by the Pokémon Kyogre.

Said edit has four of the same stock art of Kyogre haphazardly pasted over the sharks, and one of a different art in an attempt to match the position of the plush in the original.

Note that this edit was done entirely by hand.

doodle comic of my trainer oc leah.

panel 1: she's holding a map. "ok, rock tunnel. map says it's way dark inside."

panel 2: she's holding a cd holder and pulling a disk out. a menu appears behind her showing three pokemon. one has an x next to it and the other two have check marks. "should probs teach flash to somebody--"

panel 3: same as panel 2 but now she's silently staring at the second pokemon that has a checkmark. it's meowth.

panel 4: cut to inside the cave it is dark except for a glow emitting from a meowth happily laying on leah's head.

guess who powered through and beat blue at silph with a charizard, a primeape, and only 2 badges? ✌️ (the meowth are there for pickup and hm use)

The following are three screenshots from Pokémon LeafGreen.

Screenshot 1: The player just defeated the rival at Silph Co. Text reads, "So, you are ready for BOSS ROCKET!"

Screenshot 2: The party menu from LeafGreen showing a Level 37 Charizard, Level 37 Primeape, and three low-level Meowth are all the player has.

Screenshot 3: The player's Trainer Card showing that in exactly 10 hours, they've only obtained two of the eight Gym Badges. Most players have at least four at this point.
