"The affluent already possess an ‘escape hatch’: they can purchase a private GP appointment and get a second opinion." The NHS’s growing use of non-doctors risks creating a two-tier health service, argues @jatinderhayre.bsky.social fabians.org.uk/cheap-medici...

"The latest reports that training places could be restricted if strikes continue reveal something deeply troubling. Training, the very mechanism by which the NHS sustains itself, is being positioned as a bargaining chip." Excellent from @jatinderhayre.bsky.social metro.co.uk/2026/04/07/s...

Striking resident doctors like me are sick of being scapegoated
You cannot run a healthcare system on goodwill alone. You cannot retain a workforce by devaluing it.

The analysis by @jatinderhayre.bsky.social is about #healthcare, but this is necessary reading for #criminaljustice folks. These systems don't punish decisions. Everyone makes similar decisions. They reward the people wealthy enough to mitigate the consequences. jacobin.com/2026/02/heal...

“Next time you can’t see your GP, you’re waiting double digit hours in A&E, or wait over a year to see a specialist, ask if secure employment for Drs sounds unreasonable. Our unemployment crisis is a public health crisis." Vital piece by @jatinderhayre.bsky.social metro.co.uk/2025/12/17/w...

There it is. It's all about random self-selecting anecdotes and "vibes": a complete neglect of the key fact — PAs are an unqualified, untrained danger. Doctors don't want them; Patient's don't want them — they're a byproduct of sordid corruption from @gmcuk.bsky.social & @nhsengland.bsky.social.

PAs and MAPs, overwhelmingly White British, are now playing the race card. A reminder: it is, disproportionately, Ethnic Minority doctors who take the fall from the deadly mistakes of MAPs — often forced to supervise these unqualified individuals against their will. ☝🏽That is structural racism.

Well, well, well… let’s take a look at the GMC’s newest employee. Prof. Mangat’s recent career has been defined, to date, on pushing one specific agenda: The Physician Associate Experiment. Let’s take a look 🧵:

🚨The GMC Report: There’s a chorus of disagreement with every single proposal — by Doctors and Patients alike, and you’re still ploughing on? Total clown show: it would be funny if not deadly. The entire report is a lesson in gaslighting, ignorance, and hubris. 🪦The final chapter of The GMC?

It’s started. Just remember, @gmcuk spend almost £700,000 on private health insurance for their employees. They will never see a PA, and are shielded from this national scandal. They’re safe; You’re not!

Outcry on PAs and AAs from patients and professionals alike, Royal Colleges, and the BMA. The GMC is ploughing ahead with legitimising the role: at patients’ peril. The same “medical” regular with shares of a million £s in McDonalds and Coca Cola. It’s clear, GMC prioritises profit over patients.

The mainstream media is finally catching on to this national scandal: and they are right, we need to rid our healthcare system of this madness. An excellent article by @johnnyjenkins.bsky.social! Well worth a read👇🏽

It’s great to be on an alternative platform where we can further our political discourse and debate, without it being politicised by the host organisations’ machinations. Let’s get Blue Sky growing! 💙
