Today we lost my office mate Beef. She was going in to the vet due to an eye infection and weight loss and ended up not being able to come home with us. My wife was able to hold her as she passed. I’ll miss her greatly.

New panel coming up. The housing seen here lets me mount these to the bottom of my desk (I have an L desk) so the stick out at me at a 45 degree angle. Examples shown of current panels. This one will go to the right of the existing 2.
The image shows a 3D CAD design created in Autodesk Fusion 360. The design features a flight simulator panel with a detailed front face containing various labeled control sections such as "IFF," "MASTER," "ENG FEED," and "AIR SOURCE." The panel includes multiple rotary switches, toggle switches, and labeled text to represent different settings and functions. The panel is mounted on a box-shaped housing with angled side brackets for support, featuring screw holes for assembly. The overall layout is precise, with clear text engraving and holes aligned for mechanical components or fasteners. The design appears to replicate a realistic flight control interface for simulation purposes. The image shows a completed physical flight simulator control panel installed under a wooden desk. The panel features a realistic design with multiple toggle switches and rotary knobs. Each switch is labeled with clear text for specific functions such as "AV POWER," "MIDS LVT," and "MAP," among others, mimicking the appearance of real-world aircraft controls. The panel is securely mounted in a custom housing with black screws, providing a clean and polished look. The rotary knobs and toggle switches are metallic, with reflective finishes, adding to the realism. A small green electronic module is visible on the desk above the panel, likely part of the related electronics.

The image is a scene from the music video for "Dick in a Box," a comedy sketch performed by Andy Samberg and Justin Timberlake on Saturday Night Live. Both characters are dressed in black suits with sunglasses and have gift-wrapped boxes attached to their waists. They strike a confident pose with raised arms, standing against a backdrop with curtains and floral decorations. The humorous sketch satirizes 1990s R&B music videos and involves the characters presenting the box as a literal "gift."

The panel is effectively 2 bodies. A lettering body and a face body. These get exported together and imported into the slicer where the lettering body is turned white. They print in a single pass with an automatic filament changer to handle the color changes.

Alright I need to show off a little. This is a fully 3D printed and backlightable panels for my flight simulator setup. This is the first one off the press, 4 more coming.
A close-up photo of a black control panel for a flight simulator. The panel has various labeled cutouts and holes for switches and controls. The text on the panel includes labels such as "RF NORM," "QUIET," "LASER ARM," "ECM," "ALT REL," "MASTER ARM," "SIMULATE," "ADV MODE," "ROLL HDG SEL," "PITCH ALT HOLD," and "MISC." Each label appears in white, with lines and text printed cleanly around each section, indicating the function of each switch. The panel is held in someone’s hand, showing the fine details and layout of the labels.A close-up photo of the back side of a black control panel for a flight simulator. The panel has a white backing and features several circular and rectangular cutouts for switches and controls. The edges of the panel are bordered with a thin black outline, which also divides the panel into sections. Each hole aligns with corresponding control labels on the front side, visible through the backing. The panel is held in someone’s hand, showing the construction and cutouts on the reverse side for attaching components.

The button boxes are all parameterized 3D models in fusion. This lets me make more boxes easily and just swap out the face plates. I can change the width and depth of each box without having to remodel the whole thing.

Civilian models are still in the fusion 360 phase but the f16 stuff (longtime obsession with f16s) is out now

I am having the most unhinged customer support experience with aliexpress right now. It goes on like this for a while but uh... I hope she finds a healthier balance (I assume it's a woman due to the photo).

My dog gets a little sus sometimes.
It is the sus sock puppet meme but the first panel has my dogs head instead giving a very similar expression. The second panel is the normal sock puppet monkey.
