A.IV Evolution Global - what a strange, brilliant game that was.
Image of A.IV Evolution Global game - a top down isometric city builder, there are several buildings crowding round a train station. There is a simple UI that could be used with a game controller as this game was released on the PlayStation in 1995-1996

There is only one answer people.
I still image from the TV show The Simpsons of a fictional video game based on the movie My Dinner With Andre. The two characters are framed and pixelated in a restaurant scene.

Newspapers will still print whatever the hell comes out of this idiots mouth because the big $$$ are involved. Why yes, let's put data centers - that have high cooling requirements - into space where it's really difficult to cool things without massive heavy radiators...

Okay BlueSky people - keeps happening on this site and it seems completely broken - I click on the linked message here - and it opens up what is obviously a thread - but I can't see the rest of the thread from OP here - it's not even any of the posts I scroll down. What am I doing wrong?

Okay friends! I'm announcing a new project I've been working on - PSXPALDB www.psxpaldb.com I am collating a database to document all the physical variations of PAL PlayStation 1 games - because nothing like this exists so far. Still a work in progress - but it's been far too much fun so far!

The PS1 game Epidemic front is a mess. Sony had requested a black portion at the bottom with "PlayStation" in white. They just scaled the whole artwork up to make room leaving black on left side BUT they didn't leave space for the hologram, so that ended up being stuck above where it should be!

I have never seen Benfey's spiral periodic table before!
A spiral periodic table diagram showing chemical elements arranged in a continuous helix rather than the traditional rectangular grid. The spiral begins at the center with hydrogen (H) and curves outward clockwise, with elements arranged by increasing atomic number. The main spiral contains the representative elements, with different periods forming concentric loops color-coded by element groups: alkali metals in yellow, alkaline earth metals in orange, transition metals in blue and purple sections, halogens in pink, and noble gases in light blue/white at the outer edge. Two rectangular extensions branch off from the main spiral - one labeled "Lanthanides & Actinides" containing the f-block elements in green and darker green respectively, and another smaller extension labeled "Superactinides" showing hypothetical future elements. The spiral design emphasizes the periodic nature of element properties while maintaining the sequential atomic number arrangement, with group relationships preserved through the spiral's geometry and color coding.
This format highlights both the unique spiral structure and how it maintains the fundamental relationships of the traditional periodic table while presenting them in Benfey's innovative helical arrangement.

So I turned up on Monday with four bugs that needed fixing. I figured they’d take all day - maybe I’d solve one or two, since one of them had already kicked my butt most of Thursday...

Thought I'd posted this here - post conference headfog... After Develop I needed some kind of palate cleanser where I could retreat and not speak to anyone for a bit 😂 so I finally "solved" fitting both my basses into the space next to my desk with this stand design.

Working on a quest graph - boiling down all the verbs we would use for our journey - everything is an abstract object at this point. The next step is to figure out how these items are interacted with, group them into abstract spaces which we can then generate game world space from... #ProcGen

Today's progress! I've got a debug step processor working and it will display generated mesh data from each node so you can see what is happening.
Screenshot of a procedural graph in Unity's visual scripting environment. The graph is named "TestForeach" and displays a series of connected nodes used for mesh generation and manipulation. On the left panel, there are parameter settings including "Offset," "Noise Seed," "Ground Color," "Slab Color," and "Noise," along with a preview of the input mesh. The node network to the right includes nodes such as "OBB Subdivide Polygon," "Offset Node," "Apply Noise to Polygon Group," and "Extrude Polygon Into Mesh." The final output connects to the "Output Mesh Data" node. The connections are color-coded based on data type (e.g., blue for vector arrays, yellow for mesh data, and green for execution flow).

Okay - so I've finally got a dynamic execution flow working in my graphs which means I can handle looping and conditional data flows. I've incorporated both data and execution into the all nodes so that we can keep it simple for graph building. #procgen

My latest acquisition in strange PS1 controllers is this "ASCII Grip" controller. Designed for RPGs to be played one handed, I guess so that you could hold a sandwich in the other hand and not starve while playing for hundreds of hours...
