Jason @jasonxhealey.bsky.social · 11/10/2026I lament the number of these I flipped past - repeatedly - when they were everywhere and usually 8-10 bucks. They are so well done. I have Birthday Party, Motőrhead and SoM recordings and they’re phenomenal. Only the BP 12” is an Og however. 120

Jason @jasonxhealey.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Excellent album. Saw her tour on this one too. Exceptional. Her voice reminds me of Karen Carpenter. 110
Jason @jasonxhealey.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I’m a massive Ladytron fan and definitely know the DIJ version too. Pleased you liked it. 030
Jason @jasonxhealey.bsky.social · 05/10/2026The Ladytron version of this is excellent too. Unexpected? Maybe? 220
Jason @jasonxhealey.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Well we can only expect a collective of ppl who don’t know what they’re doing to consult w ppl who don’t know what they’re doing. It’d be disruptive if there was a semblance of cohesion applied. Consistently wrong reminds us that they are what we see them as. 010
Jason @jasonxhealey.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Ha ha yeah. They nailed that one. I always appreciate bands that played up the fact they were a challenging listen. 020

Jason @jasonxhealey.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Looks like today’s playlist is sorted. Kinda shocked he was 63. Both because it means he was 18 when Welcome To Hell came out, but also cos i thought he was more mature in years than that. 010
Jason @jasonxhealey.bsky.social · 01/10/2026WTF? Cronos. Wow. 63. Never would have guessed that. Bummer 010
Jason @jasonxhealey.bsky.social · 30/09/2026I can think of another Doakes line that’d be fun in the office 110
Jason @jasonxhealey.bsky.social · 29/09/2026That’s a really clever insight. We’d all be better off in a world of thinkers. 020
Jason @jasonxhealey.bsky.social · 29/09/2026It’s a cheaper practice than finding out in the studio that everyone is doing their own thing - and in a less than ideal manner. Great insight 011
Jason @jasonxhealey.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Perfect expressions of the chaos and violence within which they lived. 010
Jason @jasonxhealey.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Ha ha yeah. There were a lot of train wrecks. Guess it was about understanding the intention and giving it enough time. Hard with so many releases. The Parabellum stuff is killer. Happy accidents i guess - i don’t think bands try to sound like that. 210
Jason @jasonxhealey.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Picked this up at our beloved $5 CD store. Haven’t heard it since it was released. Feat members of #Mudhoney #LubricatedGoat and #GasHuffer Love the old CD layouts. #TheMonkeywrench #SubPop 120
Jason @jasonxhealey.bsky.social · 25/09/2026All fiercely unique and innovative bands. Nothing came close to the atmosphere of DDTM 110
Jason @jasonxhealey.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Ha ha yeah, anointing your own music vs having someone do it on your behalf is never the same. Maybe this explains Guy’s basketball hoop shenanigans. Nothing emo about that. 110
Jason @jasonxhealey.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Mystifier. Excellent. This was a bold album. Their triumph was Göetia to be sure, but Wicca is noteworthy too. I kinda wish they had a more bestial tone, but they’d lose that occult vibe i guess. 110
Jason @jasonxhealey.bsky.social · 25/09/2026I suggested this in a roadrunner Australia catalog in 2007 ish. Probably pulled it from wilipedia. I was no authority on the subject. 110
Jason @jasonxhealey.bsky.social · 24/09/2026One of my fave AU bands did a few records on #Waterftont If you’ve never heard #Nunbait it’s highly recommended Their EP The Hub was great too. youtu.be/fqnmco6hS7E?... youtu.be/wUumIUCu0s8?...youtu.beNowhere Fast - NunbaitYouTube video by Shaun Butcher 000
Jason @jasonxhealey.bsky.social · 22/09/2026What i don’t know about doo-wop could fill a library, but their first record was packed w great songs and clever ideas. I kinda liked the throwback to Coven and Black Widow from the early 70s with the Black Mass and overt LaVeyanisms. 110
Jason @jasonxhealey.bsky.social · 22/09/2026Ohhhh this is new. I really liked the first album, but flaked on the second. Will check this out for sure. 110
Jason @jasonxhealey.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Yesssss. I play this one a lot. It’s like a 7” it seems to reach the end of each side so fast. 010
Jason @jasonxhealey.bsky.social · 18/09/2026Yeah i know TOTM zine. And this is one of my favorite metal recordings also. Really classic stuff. The FOAD pressing sounds killer. Shame they didn’t stay the course. 110
Jason @jasonxhealey.bsky.social · 18/09/2026Repulsion and Slaughter (i assume you mean Strappado!!!) get a lot of airtime at my house too. Excellent 111
Jason @jasonxhealey.bsky.social · 18/09/2026You’re on a hot streak today. Altars = best death metal record ever. 110
Jason @jasonxhealey.bsky.social · 18/09/2026Yeah. Those records were real cheap here in the late 80s. I remember finding the first Allniters LP for $3 appreciating there were Australian. Love to change gears mid thought. 000
Jason @jasonxhealey.bsky.social · 18/09/2026I think some of the American bands from the 80s were kinda goofy, but the Jamaican and UK scenes that preceded it were magnificent. Not to say all of the US stuff was bad - just relatively speaking. The Untouchables, the Toasters were two sound examples. The Untouchables being in Repo Man was cool 110

Jason @jasonxhealey.bsky.social · 17/09/2026Ha ha yeah. Behind the times. Vital Remains and Angel Corpse killing it in 1996. 010
Jason @jasonxhealey.bsky.social · 17/09/2026Courtesy of the “who cares, we won” crowd. Maybe if more people held integrity in higher regard, there’d be less of this BS tolerated. 000
Jason @jasonxhealey.bsky.social · 17/09/2026Oh yeah. That first album was killer. You’re right that they never got the attention they deserved. Death Metal wasn’t so fashionable then, tho there were some great albums at that time. Being on Listenable vs Osmose didn’t help. 110
Jason @jasonxhealey.bsky.social · 17/09/2026Maybe he could direct some of that advice to Australia too. 000
