The Forgotten Five is doing its Kickstarter right now & it's going pretty good! I made a trailer for the comic in case you're wondering "what's their deal?" It's going to keep going for as long as we can manage it, the support has been truly humbling. We love these characters! youtu.be/87rL8pW1zaA

Kickstarter is off to a great start, thanks to everyone reserving their special Amnesia Editions of the first chapters of The Forgotten Five! We've been working on this for like 3 years, so the whole team is thrilled that folks can finally pick up a print edition. www.kickstarter.com/projects/new...

Hitchcock zine not doing great for sales (a slow season for sales in general) but I still love it a lot. Writing it helped me get out some of my feelings on this guy and the role his movies played in my life and in my understanding of storytelling. But, most importantly always, Tippi rocks.

The SCTV event directed by Scorsese will never see the light of day but I was there. Kimmel asked them who their -least- favourite character was of every series regular, and when they got to Martin Short they all said (in unison) "Jackie Rogers Jr." youtu.be/VqLhKz-M328?...

I can't really think of a more pleasant person to chat about Hellboy with than @trungles.com. We recorded this podcast episode months ago, fortunately our takes aged like fine wine. Easily one of my favorite artists, check out his new book Angelica and the Bear Prince (and listen to this episode) ❤️

I hate to be the 900th person on the feed looking for work but lol I'm looking for work, if you need a video editor or writer I am here for remote and I can do photos and videography if you're in the Wisconsin-ish area. A website? But of course! saracentury.com

Ok PDF is processing, IRL copies are in the mail - my lesbian vampire zine is soon to be out in the world! PDF will be in inboxes sometime this weekend. I'll post more about this later but I'm currently tired from finishing a huge zine, saracentury.gumroad.com to snag a copy 🦇

The first chapter of our comic is live! We need more subscribers to keep it going, but we're really thankful for the support we've gotten before we even launched. The whole team has put a lot of love into this project and it's really exciting to share it 💖

I wrote a zine about the Scream franchise. Everyone who talks to me about the zine always, 100% of the time brings up the AI statement, which technically has nothing to do with Scream but has everything to do with the zine itself.

An excerpt from Scream: An Overview of the First Six Films by Sara Century.

AI Statement

This zine was not created by AI. It took me a year to write, from early 2023 to early 2024. I spent several more months agonizing over edits, desperately rephrasing sentences out of coherence and back again. Even with all of that work, it isn't perfect. It will never be perfect. I will never be perfect. Imperfect people will read it and I love that for us.

This zine was not created by AI. I wrote it and rewrote it during a really hard time in my life. Many times, it seemed like I'd turned 40 and had been unceremoniously dropped back to Square One by life. I couldn't see how I could make anything work. So, I made a zine.

This zine was not created by AI. Every time I almost gave up, I worked through it instead. By the time it was finished, it felt like a small epiphany for how I wanted to make art going forward.

This zine was not created by AI. Finishing it was a gift I gave myself when I felt devalued and defeated. It's a love letter to myself, horror movies, and I guess to all of us.

This zine was not created by AI. It was created by me.

A copy of a zine about the Scream franchise featuring the killer's mask in white on a black cover. It is sitting on several loose pages of the zine. A link reading: Available @ saracentury.gumroad.com
