This is Quiet Riot last night. One original member left in the band, and the current lead singer has been in the group for not even 2 weeks, and this was only his 2nd performance. But he rocked it. Got the looks and voice. (sorry, didn't take video)

Tonight it's Sebastian Bach/Quiet Riot/Great White. I was lucky to get free tix (because in these days, free tickets is gold, right?). Still seeing a lot of blue dots here. Gonna be an interesting show either way

Today a friend gave me a ticket to a concert taking place this Saturday: Sebastian Bach, Great White and Quiet Riot. Seen the first two before, and they're not bad. In fact, Quiet Riot's new 23 y.o. singer joined last week. And only 1 member from the 80s era. Still, I can't complain it's free

Last week I traveled portions of two historic highways. Just about everyone knows about Route 66, but then there's the Jefferson Highway. It was very interesting, fun, nerve-wracking (several parts of it are unpaved!) driving the Kansas and Missouri part of the JH.

When I hear "Choosin' Texas," I'm like 'this sounds like another song, but I'm not sure which one...' Well, it's a combination of these: "Slow Hand" (Pointer Sisters), "Grandpa" (the Judds), "It Never Rains..." (Albert Hammond) and "Change of the Guard" (Steely Dan). Who's got more to add?

Just put out a piece that talks about 9/11 Memorials that have actual artifacts from the World Trade Center towers. There is an estimated 1,100+ all over. A new book, Scattered Steel, talks about that subject. In this video, I visit a few ot them. www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_Jc...

"Rock is dead," depending on how u view it. AI says its role in mainstream culture has changed. Most of what passes for rock these days is what you hear on Octane. Some say country is the new rock. This may not be a bad thing, as it gives more reason for the Rock Hall to induct backlogged artists.

Perhaps the most interesting thing about the Survivor 51 cast is not only are there 21(!)...but they finally cast someone from West Virginia! There are now 3 states that have never had castaways represent them (Alaska, New Mexico, N Dakota). But hey, let's keep casting Canadians!

This FB post/rant (from a lady) about Gen-Z and concert worthiness has been making the rounds, reaching out to 11 million! Too bad it probably won't reach the big-name artists and TM/LN people. Sadly, this can apply to other generations too. The days of Madonna showing up 2 hrs late are over....

In the last couple months, I've been debating on whether I should see AC/DC in St. Louis next month. Yes, they're getting older and I've always been a fan. Did I think they will be worth it? Well, now I do. This morning it was announced that the Foo Fighters will open for them. 2 for the price of 1?

These 12-feet tall shield sculptures are now popping up all over Route 66 places in Missouri. I do hope to venture back to Springfield and Joplin sometime this year. Seriously doubt I'll see one of these in St. Louis, but who knows?! As expected, several will be getting their kicks on 66 this year

I was a soph in HS in late '97, and remember my sis telling me "someday the 90s will be all history like the 70s and 80s". She was halfway right. What also replaced grunge rock was post-grunge, which may have begun in 1995. Also, alternative music was becoming more pop and mainstream.

Joel Whitburn's books were never really an indicator of who would get in the Rock Hall, but sometimes it's fun to pretend, right? lol. These are the top Pop artists from the 80s, and now that Phil Collins is in, who should be next from this list? The highest-ranked non-inductees is Kenny Rogers. Hmm
