btw my attention's been caught by working on fangame project, hence not much drawing happening might've briefly mentioned previously too, but hey, it's Sonic Only Up. it's one huuuge looong level in which you're meant to find a way up, with zones changing as you progress

I really like what playdate did, gave a way to dev and a dedicated emulator and wow I really like many things going on there, just need something semi-popular like that to hook up to your TV, and with sooome sorta physical-games-option for the devs, even if it's just SD cards or USB sticks

and uh yeah in general I try to use as much mii parts as possible, to have the animations and expressions show properly. akakabuto (top row, third character, the bear there) only has a single eye visible so he's not really expressive

don't got em up anywhere currently but I can grab screenshots at some point! with stuff like balto's yellow sclera I use eyes without the white part and draw in the yellow, if I want custom eyebrows I draw em too, and yeah with mouth/muzzle areas I also draw more to go with the actual mii mouth

sooo what I'm learning with the new starfox thing is that fans of the series can be even more anal than how pissed sonic fans get whenever sonic's design is changed anyway my feeling of the new designs is a super neutral "eh", not a big fan of realistic redesigns in general xd

sooo... having an item with a 50/50 for "win the round" or "get a bad coin" kinda just breaks raccoin. bad coins ended up not being a problem at all. I could've kept going for forever, but had to stop somewhere. the game struuuuggled to close and save after, took like 10 minutes
