UI for humans to do the work by clicking will be gone. UI for humans to understand data, numbers, and status will stay. UI for humans to command agents is emerging.

Free is HTTP only. TCP tunnels, custom domains, Snapshots, and Access control stay on paid plans.

→ One URL at a time, fresh random subdomain per session (brave-blue-fox.trylocalcan.com). Pause and resume keep the same URL, and one click starts the next one.

→ 60-minute sessions, 1 GB a month. Enough to debug a webhook or show a client a build. Not enough to quietly run production on my servers.

→ No interstitial. Whoever opens your link hits your app, not a screen asking them to click through. That page exists to make free annoying, and it lands on the person who never chose your tool.

LocalCan™ has a Free plan now. No warning page for your visitors. Sign up with an email, get a Public URL on trylocalcan. com. No card. Why it's shaped this way:
trylocalcan.com
trylocalcan.com — temporary preview URLs by LocalCan
Links on trylocalcan.com are temporary preview URLs developers create with LocalCan to share work running on their own computer.

Also in this release: LocalCan servers send an LC-IPCountry header, so the Request Inspector shows a country flag next to each visitor IP. Useful for telling your client apart from a crawler.

@localcan.com 3.0 Beta 9 exposes Snapshots and Access Control through the CLI and the MCP server. The agent runs `localcan snapshot publish ./dist`, gets a Public URL back, then `localcan access password <url>`, and gives you both.

"Publish this prototype and put a password on it." That prompt now works from inside Claude/Codex/Cursor etc. The nice thing about it is that the full cycle is now 100% agent-driven: Design → Build → Publish → Share. No dashboard tab, no dragging a folder anywhere.

Every feature sits on the card that runs it. So you can tell at a glance what keeps working with your laptop closed, which now includes Access Control: password, secret link, IP rules, enforced on the server. Access Control is new in 3.0 beta 8. release.

Happy with how this panel turned out. Select a Public URL and you see the actual route: LocalCan's network on top, your machine below, tunnel in between.

Webhook debugging used to be: trigger it, dig through logs, copy whatever you find, paste it into an AI chat, hope you grabbed the right request. Now the agent just reads the traffic itself. "A webhook failed, find out why" and it pulls the exact request and response LocalCan captured.

What I really like about AI is that at least half of my day is spent making judgment calls instead of doing boring, tedious work. And that share keeps growing.

I haven't designed a website for some time, and I forgot how long it takes. The new @localcan.com landing page is coming together nicely, and I can't wait to finalize it and launch. BTW, let me know if you have any feedback!

I put together a tutorial on OAuth 2.1 for MCP servers. Fully working end to end against a real auth server, with every gotcha I hit along the way.

Never imagined I'd give an AI agent access to LocalCan CLI, ask it to use it, and ask about the experience and provide feedback. Wild!

NPM Security Best Practices: Defending Against Supply Chain Attacks - Blog - LocalCan™
The npm security best practices we just rolled out across every LocalCan repo to defend against supply chain attacks: lockfile discipline, install-time cooldowns, --ignore-scripts, digest-pinned images, and locking down CI.

Jarek @jarekceborski.com · 12/05/2026
npm supply-chain attacks keep happening, so I hardened all my repos and wrote up the checklist. Mostly two lines of config. Do it before the next one.

This could be the best or worst business decision: LocalCan is going subscription-only very soon (don't worry, existing perpetual licenses will keep working).

Large projects with AI aren't a code-writing problem. They're a context-management problem (or really, an attention problem). I wrote a blog post about how I use Claude Code across a 6-repo, multi-language codebase. Link in comments.

Quietly the biggest thing I've shipped in 3 years. A full rewrite - from pixels to infra. A real CLI, a global edge network, Linux support. The version of LocalCan I always wanted to ship. Beta out today 👇

What you see in the demo is just a thin UI layer - an Electron.js app, which at its core, is a pretty YAML file editor. Stay tuned!

Sneak peek of @localcan.com 3.0, super excited about releasing the beta soon-ish! It includes CLI, multi-region infra, YAML-driven config, and added Linux support. Fully rewritten in Go (app + infra). From my tests, the performance gains are huge, especially for folks outside the EU.

Ah, no, license doesn’t expire, it’s lifetime. The period for installing app updates expires. You don’t need to renew it if you don’t want latest versions.

What shocks me when comparing Kerlig vs. LocalCan is the revenue per website visit: Kerlig = $0.16 / visit LocalCan = $0.86 / visit and I think Kerlig needs to pivot!

Developers need great tools with top DX, period. This is as true now as it was back in 2023 when LocalCan only allowed publishing .local domains on the local network. TCP tunnels open a whole bunch of new possibilities when developing: K8s clusters, gRPC services or exposing local database Enjoy!
