Telling someone D$D should be their first RPG is like telling someone a model-T should be their first car

Tarot-based systems: are they the RPG design equivalent of playing “Stairway to Heaven” in the guitar store?

Me changing the term PC to OC in fish out of water is a little like Steve Buscemi’s, “hey fellow teenagers.” But I’m trying.

The problem with trying to make something nobody's ever seen before is that "nobody" includes the person making it.

I am nearing my “post-quality” phase. You’re not saving lives, you’re making role playing games. Don’t be precious. Start. Finish. Do it again. Get shit done. #stopplayinggames #startmakinggames

Hey Nerds. Print version of Black Lipstick and Schism 2 going up this month. PDF of Schism 2 will be up this week. Doing another quick RPG this month. It’s weird and won’t be fun to play.

Created a new term: Dysperience. It's the inverse of Experience (XP), tracking a character's degradation and accumulated failure. Gained from setbacks and bad decisions, it forces negative effects like injuries or reduced stats, driving an intentional downward spiral.

Role-play is not acting "in character." Role-play is when a player makes a decision based on five factors: Emotional: How do I feel? Social: How will this affect other players? Tactical: Will this get me to my goal? Moral: Does it conflict with my values? Avatar: What would this character do?

The Hottest of Hot Takes: groups like "Critical Role" have done more damage to RPGs than Pat Pulling and MADD ever did. And when I say RPGs I'm emphasizing the games part. 🔥 This ain't theatre camp. #SystemMatters
