The symposium will be 3-6 May 2026 in Iowa, USA, and the deadline for submissions is 19 December, 2025. Here's the flyer:

The 3rd Geogames Symposium provides an international forum for researchers, developers, and game enthusiasts to present, exchange, and advance knowledge in the field of geogames. The symposium examines the potential of analogue and digital geogames. It highlights how geogames can be employed to explore Earth as a complex, living system of interdependent actors and self-regulating processes, thereby inspiring more sustainable ways of living and informing the reshaping of human-environment interactions.
Key research topics include and are not limited to: geogames and community engagement, envisioning the future with geogames, geogames applications, emerging technologies and geogames, Geogame design and evaluation.
Submission types: short paper, workshop, game demonstration and game play, students' forum.
Deadlines: first submission for peer-review (December 19), reviews completed (January 30); acceptance letters sent to the authors (February 15); Upload the final contributions (March 16).

I've got mixed feelings about this. The Chromatic came after a few years of the Game Boy dev community growing with #GBStudio so there were plenty of launch games to choose from. Will the #homebrewdev scene step up and release similar tools and or games for the N64?

#Wonderswan games were much harder to find. Out of the 4 stores I could only find these 2. But I found out they so make #flashcarts, so if I wanted I could play the 10ish ROMs with English fan translations 🤣

#gamehistory #gamecollecting Recently had a 12ish hour layover in Tokyo. Of course I had to be irresponsible and take the metro out to rural Japan to scour thrift stores for video game consoles. 6ish trains, 2 monorails, 3 taxis, and 4 thrift stores (mostly Hard Off) later here are my bargain finds:
