Just back from Santa Margherita Ligure, San Frattuoso, Portofino, Rapallo and Sestri Levante - and I've got an Italian suntan to prove it. An undoubted highlight of my trip was a visit to the Basilica of Santa Margherita, a Catholic place of worship, in the Piazza Caprera.

Just back from Venice. The thing I enjoyed doing the most was attending a Vivaldi concert at the Church of San Vidal and visiting the Galleries Bartoux where the artists were heavily influenced by Salvadore Dali. It was so hot swimming was definitely on the agenda along with lots of gelatos.

Guess which Agatha Christie novel this picture depicts. In many respects, it incorporates many traditional aspects of Hallowe'en. A frisson of horror reminiscent of the late Christie illustrator Tom Adams can be found in the beautiful image of the dead child in the bucket. Answer - Hallowe'en Party.

Here I am in circa 1990, when I must have been about 28, at Kingswear Railway Station in Devon, England. The terminus retains its period charm to this day and doubled as St. Looe Station in the ITV television series Agatha Christie's Poirot - Peril at End House.

What does Agatha Christie have in common with Robert Stigwood, the Australian-born British-resident music entrepreneur, film producer, and impresario? He once invited her to his latest theatrical production Pippin. He also managed the Bee Gees and produced Grease and Saturday Night Fever.
