I originally wanted to celebrate this by making a midi visualizer vid of the song, but I ran into problems with the project file since it primarily used FL's legacy soundfont player, so nothing loads right anymore. I'll try to get it working with an older FL version later

even if someone is searching that list for a specific style, maybe far from your own, the surprise in finding your work and realizing they very much enjoyed it would make your inclusion on the list a net positive. Someone who doesn't enjoy it likely wont enjoy every other artist on the list either

I'd say for people who discovered you through the vgm list, someone who felt distaste towards what you do would be no different than if they felt distaste towards someone elses work who DID better fit the more common "vgm" expectation. Everyone, of course, has their own preferences-

It's also likely many new followers are actually just from some of your Twitter followers using the sky follower bridge extension that automatically transfers their follows over to here but I haven't tried it and not sure if that's how it works

I agree with Frums, you shouldn't express yourself any less because of those who follow you. Any new people who haven't experienced your music are welcome to embrace it or go somewhere else, theres no need to entertain anyone's hostility because it says much more about them than it ever would on you
