One of the knock-on benefits of Universal Basic income, would be that people would not need to waste time on forms, and could use that time for projects, growing vegetables and many many more things.
"Being poor is actually a full-time job & being
broke is like a full-time job with the amount of
paperwork and the time going from office to
office proving what you have done.

With Universal Basic Income all that would
be eliminated with the time liberated to do
something socially productive."

* Reform councillor said he urged activists to stand down * Stand Up to Racism condemns ‘dangerous’ gathering Anti-immigration protesters gathered outside a Portsmouth hotel were forced to cancel their demonstration after discovering the Pakistan Under-19 cricket team rather than a group of asylum seekers were staying there. A black-clad vigilante group attempted to block the streets around the port to stop the arrivals from leaving the area. Continue reading...

Industrial chicken farming accelerating spread of diarrhoea bacteria, study finds
Intensive nature of modern chicken farming creates ideal conditions for campylobacter, allowing bacteria to evolve Industrial chicken farming is accelerating the spread of the world’s most common bacterial cause of diarrhoea, scientists have found. The study found a dramatic increase in the exchange of campylobacter strains between wild birds and chickens as farming has intensified, creating the ideal conditions for the bacteria to mix, spread and acquire new traits. There has also been a rise in antimicrobial resistance traits in circulating strains, raising concerns that serious illness in people will be more difficult to treat. Continue reading...
