Omg you're me (but somehow only when I'm in the US, I swear your mosquitoes are mutants or sth)

I must apologize to Banksy, I wasn't familiar with his game

Jan @janfie95.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

Also, I'd totally be down for this Discord call - although time zones and work and general scheduling are probably going to make this very very difficult.

I ran it for the first time a few weeks ago with a small group. It was not as scary as I thought! There's lots of beginner friendly scenarios where you don't have to keep track of a lot of things. I still made mistakes, but that stuff happens - you just gotta roll with it.

Yeah it's fake. Culture Cave is a parody account. There's absolutely zero sources for this, it's made up. It also would be terrible casting lol

Jan @janfie95.bsky.social · 30/08/2026

It basically IS chapter one!!! It's more important than chapter one! It has a special name because it's THE beginning! Omg I'm glad I wasn't there arguing with that person otherwise I would go crazy lmao

Would y'all recommend the Like a Dragon games even if I tried and couldn't get into Yakuza 0? I found some of the side quests funny but found the gameplay a little tedious and repetitive. But every once in a while I see clips from the newer games and think that I HAVE to check them out.

Especially since prologues and epilogues very often contain extremely vital information about the plot! I could probably name several books in which you'd be better off skipping a random chapter in the middle than the prologue

...or any piece of media/art, for that matter. Probably the same type of people who can't watch a movie without scrolling on their phone at the same time for the entire duration haha

Jan @janfie95.bsky.social · 30/08/2026

That's apparently a big think on BookTok. I've seen a YouTube video about this trend. The same general group of people also likes to skip over any and all descriptive passages or even read dialogue only. For the life of me I don't understand how you could ever interact with a book like that...

Jan @janfie95.bsky.social · 29/08/2026

Oh I didn't even know there was one! Interesting. For what it's worth, reviews on letterboxd seem pretty positive?

120

Jan @janfie95.bsky.social · 17/08/2026

What are you doing now? Good luck on your first day!

120

Jan @janfie95.bsky.social · 30/07/2026

Okay yeah I know I'd hate that lmao

020

Jan @janfie95.bsky.social · 30/07/2026

I've never read any, but from the way I've heard people talking about it, I always had a feeling that it would be something like this lol

130

Jan @janfie95.bsky.social · 21/07/2026

America, I am once again inside of you. Can you feel me?

Jan @janfie95.bsky.social · 21/07/2026

The video even cut off a second from the beginning, there's about a dozen more from 12-5am haha

Jan @janfie95.bsky.social · 19/07/2026

How are you liking backloggd? I joined it briefly a few years ago but it seemed pretty half baked at that point

Jan @janfie95.bsky.social · 18/07/2026

I just changed jobs - from a really good one to an even better one. The past 9 months were the most rewarding I've ever had in my teaching career. Now I'm on summer break, get to see Shannon in just a few days, and I'm already looking forward to the first day at my next job after the break is over.

Jan @janfie95.bsky.social · 09/07/2026

Silly Ivana, that's no movie for a 2 year old!!

Jan @janfie95.bsky.social · 09/07/2026

Obsidian right now has a lot of the OG talent working for them that were present for New Vegas, so IF they are granted the time and resources that they need it might be a perfect storm but that's a big if

Jan @janfie95.bsky.social · 08/07/2026

It's really not that hard to say "I was wrong" lol

010

Jan @janfie95.bsky.social · 08/07/2026

Yeah what a disappointment. Klippenstein has started to rub me the wrong way for a while now but this really takes the cake. I've mostly just been following him to see what he'll say about this debacle, guess I got my answer now lol

120

Jan @janfie95.bsky.social · 26/06/2026

There's a solid chance that I might visit Boston again some day but a significantly smaller chance that I'll be in Pennsylvania, so if you ever wanna see my face again... 🙆🏻‍♀️

120

Jan @janfie95.bsky.social · 25/06/2026

Also also, maybe a bit of a hot take, but I really don't think that the age difference is that wild given the historical context.

120

Jan @janfie95.bsky.social · 25/06/2026

I hate that condescending "Everyone who actually read it" It's obviously a love story. And obviously a tragedy. Since when are those things mutually exclusive? Also, people like to forget that there actually is something of a happy end to the story.

130

Jan @janfie95.bsky.social · 05/06/2026

DM me when this happens! Time for another Cali road trip...

120

Jan @janfie95.bsky.social · 05/06/2026

Anyone know if he's on here?

110

Jan @janfie95.bsky.social · 29/05/2026

Are Americans made of burger

140

Jan @janfie95.bsky.social · 19/05/2026

Both All Quiet on the Western Front movies are strong contenders for best WWI movie I think Either Full Metal Jacket or Apocalypse Now for Vietnam, but I haven't watched either in over a decade so I can't really judge

130

Jan @janfie95.bsky.social · 08/05/2026

Now commit and change the language 😈

220

Jan @janfie95.bsky.social · 06/05/2026

Also, the premise seems like peak cringe millenial slop. I might be wrong about this. Maybe they're actually good and funny. But I will never find out because of the above mentioned issue

120

Jan @janfie95.bsky.social · 06/05/2026

I will never read Dungeon Crawler Carl because those book covers are some of the ugliest things I've ever seen in my life

On Saturday the 25th we're holding our 7th annual Cornetto trilogy marathon on Discord, a tradition that started during COVID. It's a blast every time! Event is open for all, so just reply or DM if you want an invite to the server or more deets.
