I remember these comics so well! The Hamlet one was based more on the Lawrence Olivier film version than Shakespeare’s rofl. And Lorna Doon. Does anyone read Lorna Doon any more?

Aww. My daughter is a grad of that college. Too bad.

We can only hope. No—I got that wrong. We can all vote.

Absolutely disgusted to learn the Pentagon plans to live-stream the execution of the Ft Hood shooter #barbarism

Looks like the early end to a Biden-era pilot program to hold down standalone Medicare Part D drug prices is yet one more way the Trump admin is stealth-driving seniors into Medicare “Advantage” plans (aka ordinary insurance). #Medicare #Trumpadmincorruption

Eh, just keep putting it out there, keep learning, & find a good supportive critique group

I just looked this part up after my own suspected case of food poisoning & numerous recalls in the news. How many are we not getting notified of? How many are actually being caused by the loosening of regulations? How much more at risk are we via the slashing of resources to keep accurate records?

My few experiences at LAX were a nightmare, including a missed connection when a shuttle driver went on break, stranding his passengers

That IS what our Sunday sermons point out. A gentle reminder that all Christians aren't Christian fascist nationalists.

Don’t take stuff like this for granite. That it’s destructive to the brain? A mute point.

Then, too, as Molly Ivins once pointed out, “You gotta dance with them that brung you,” so—even if one of them CAN prove otherwise, that person will never have my vote.

I know everyone says it’s the best Robin Hood. I didn’t really like it. It seems garish and full of grotesque over-acting. Maybe there are some cinematic niceties I don’t appreciate. I re-watched it back to back with High Noon recently. High Noon—now THAT’s a great film. Apples&oranges I guess.

Think it might be “magic bullet,” not “silver.”

010

I THINK the objection might be based on the discredited “silver bullet” theory of media influence but it seems misapplied.

I love this. Gregory Orr, in “A Primer for Poets & Readers of Poetry,” discusses the threshold every artist sets in a work of art. The viewer/reader has to decide, “Do I step over?” The artist has to decide, “How difficult do I make this, and for whom?” Respect these decisions! All part of the art.
