Still think that it's all some sort of wild conspiracy theory? That foster carers, birth parents, SEND parents/carers, and adopters are making up nonsense to hide their own failings? I would have thought that too a decade ago.

Yesterday's session at Wakefield Council was a busy one. It was great to see a room full of social workers, teachers, and foster carers all learning and collaborating. If we want to prevent the next grooming scandal in children's social care then collaboration is key.

PREVENTION OF FUTURE DEATHS REPORT MARCIA GRANT It has been more than a year since this report was published. The clue is in the name. It is supposed to lead to changes to ensure that the circumstances which led to the unlawful killing of foster carer by a 12 yo in her care are not repeated.

Special Guardianship Orders This is a significant recent ruling in respect of foster carers seeking SGOs for a child in their care. Local authorities are keen to push foster carers into SGOs and we see an element of coercion in this regard.
