Paprika the rare fossorial water vole has a new home next to water! Named after the tube she was caught in, Paprika was living in a Glasgow residential area away from water, where vital surface water management is needed to protect homes and businesses from impacts of climate change. #wildlife

In France, legislation came into effect recently for all car parks that have over 80 spaces to be covered with solar panels. Estimated to add around 11GW of renewable energy capacity to the national grid. Why not do likewise in Scotland? Braehead, Silverburn, Glasgow Fort etc.

This was fun to make for Scottish Water, using drones to disperse tree seeds across areas of difficult terrain around Talla Reservoir, Scottish Borders. The area is fenced off to protect seeds from grazing sheep and deer. Woodlands stabilise land & less organic matter entering the water source.

I’m sad to hear the news that the wonderful Jane Goodall is no longer in the world. Her work with chimpanzees at Gombe in Tanzania taught us to look at other apes - and ourselves - differently. I was privileged to meet her later in life and tell her what an inspiration she was to me.

The critically endangered European eel has finally returned to the upper levels of the River Annan, Scotland, for the first time in 75 years, thanks to an eel pass installed three years ago by Scottish Water. 🥳🎉 Baby eels, elvers, are now in the upper reaches of the river. An ecological success!
