This all did not start with Trump. It's decades of Republican and Democratic politics. It is the conservative nature of Americans. Even plenty of Democrats are conservative. So yes, it is the Americans. Trump is the logical result of how you all voted and what you allowed for decades as a collective

To be fair, it is not being said that Germany lacked thinkers and inventors. However, many of the type being discussed here fled Germany. For example, Einstein. Meaning the Allies overall were better at applying research. Clearly, Germans were still capable of doing that with jets and stuff.

I think it's more about not wanting to set a precedent that will bite them in the ass.

Strange how things suddenly seem possible when Trump might lose the midterms. At best, that is also how long this ceasefire will last.

This desperation is for the midterm. The high cost of diesel will cost the republicans a lot of votes.

Indeed, same reason Trump and Congress signed that bill so close before the midterms. A way to distance themselves without too much impact.

The penguins in zoos are not electable, the AfD is. Clearly, having a good deal in their pocket with Putin, even if Putin will just ignore that deal when AFD get's elected, is going to gain them a lot of votes. Extremely populist and, with the amount of gullible people around, very effective.

I know little of her, just who she decided to associate with and who is platforming her. Pretty much know enough. The platforms she is on, generally do not host sensible and honest people.

Stepping up vigilance by pushing to remove sanctions on Usmanov and risking not renewing the sanctions already in place. Also, it is not a hybrid threat. They are and have been fighting a hybrid war.

We will see. I have found that Russian channels tend to overexaggerate in either direction.

News from Russia is not really news anymore. Just more of the same clown show.

Baker's assurances always just annoy me. That is not how treaties work. Everyone knows that, including the people who claim this nonsense.

Fairly certain drones that could drop bombs were the earlier improvised drones we saw. Exploding FPV drones came later, with Baba Yaga being one of the most well-known ones. However, both have a different role. I'm not sure what reusable option you could have to replace the FPV drone's role.

Rules are only rules if someone enforces them. If not, then they are pretty much just guidelines.

Good, then let Ukraine produce them. Make a good deal having Ukraine sell them after their war to the US for a good price. Seems like a win win scenario to me.

While they were still very clearly attacking other parts of Ukraine. The “good faith” interpretation is just so strange. Even if we accept the premise that it was done in good faith, why does such a gesture matter when they are still actively invading and attacking the rest of Ukraine?

Because the Russians already know it, or because this is a lie. I’m not saying Ukrainian SOF cannot make mistakes, but they have proven competent. Unless shown otherwise, I assume they understand this better than you and me and have a valid reason for releasing it.

They could not even do that to the first Ukraine.

Any examples? This whole thing is one. A revocation happened once, and that was later reversed. Way more controversial recipients have received it. This is clearly just politics. How else would you explain such drastic and extremely rare action over such a minor thing?

They will hate on Ukraine and blame it for anything no matter what Zelensky does. If the air smells funky in Poland, Zelensky farted in Poland's direction. Pleasing them is like pleasing Trump: utterly pointless. The moment you try to de-escalate, they escalate because they think they can get more.

Sure, let’s do that. Fairly certain the crew would love to work on tankers that might explode at any moment, and buyers also love the idea of unloading remotely detonatable ships full of oil in their ports. I am sure this will work out exactly as Russia expects it to work out.

"Trolls blame Ukraine" Apparently he was a bit too mean to the dude who has been murdering his fellow countrymen. These guys are just too funny. They cannot make up their mind whether Putin is the strongest of strongmen or this sad, fragile snowflake.

Shamefully, they will blame the STATE-OWNED television, but not the owner of those TV channels. This propaganda is Kremlin-approved. I think Putin might have made an oopsie. Wrong propaganda. I mean, it is hard to keep track of all the bullshit at his age.

This is what the author said: "I understand the impulse. I share it. I am still going to argue against it." It feels to me more like someone who had bad thoughts and wants to trivialize them by projecting them onto everyone. If everyone wants to harm innocent people, it isn’t bad, right?

It is. This is simply a change in command structure. Instead of one corps being responsible for northern Poland and the Baltics, it is now split up. This means this command and its unit will focus solely on those countries, instead of being responsible for a larger area.

000
jandit.bsky.social @jandit.bsky.social · 23/05/2026
In fact, that is essentially what should happen if you are in the EU and the legal framework and institutions do not reflect EU values anymore. EU leader tend to not go for that option shamefully.
000
jandit.bsky.social @jandit.bsky.social · 23/05/2026
I get the feeling, but that is not how the EU works. There is no mechanism to kick someone out. So allowing someone in who has not changed their legal framework and institutions to reflect EU values comes with a significant risk. It is more than fair to withhold voting rights until they have.
120
jandit.bsky.social @jandit.bsky.social · 23/05/2026
This is being respectful. This is changing the rules to include Ukraine more in the EU. It means they can get access without making all the required changes. There is nothing unfair or disrespectful about it. They can simply not accept it and do it the standard way expected from everyone else.
