Global health is a field that on the one hand says it's evidence based but on the other that it won't fund diabetes because it isn't "sexy" - as if a health condition should physically attractive to get the resources it needs. #diabetes #globalhealth

I'm seeing in popular media GLP-1s/Ozempic being used to reinforce a previously dying frame of mind. Being obese = diabetes. Diabetes = because *you* did it to yourself. You see it in YouTube skits, late night jokes etc. I thought we were making good progress on reversing this nonsense but no. 😔
