Bluesky posting some AI bullshit on twitter x.com/bluesky/stat...
A tweet from the official twitter account for Bluesky, quoting the announcement post of the AI service Attie with the text:

"Vibe-coding, but make it social.

Starting today you can use Attie to make sites: Games, quizzes, guestbooks, your top 8, or whatever you dream up. Go try it!"

Rollerball, a ham-fisted dystopia with poorly realised themes, but entertaining action. It does, however, contain a small scene of a character looking for information, finding all books classified/banned, needing to go to a water-based computer to get the "summarised" version.

Recent Read: The Tunnel by William H Gass The hardest book I’ve read, in terms of its dense and highly alliterative prose, and its subject matter: the mind of a man so unlikable he’s trying to bury his own journals in a tunnel he’s digging in the basement of his house. #booksky

Love the way it discusses the connection between dreams/imagination/fiction and the real world. The creature designs are particularly fantastic! Unfortunately did not know it's a prequel to a tv show from a few years ago, so the ending is more open than I'd like.

Just watched I Am Frankelda, the wonderfully imaginative and colourfully animated film about a young woman who writes horror and the terror-realm that needs her help. Apparently the first feature length stop motion film from Mexico.

A story about a loner trying to find the people who stole his pig made me think Cage was doing an eccentric John Wick, but Pig (2021) is a relatively quiet and sentimental film and all the better for it.

When I heard about @augursociety.bsky.social's #AugurMicros2025 contest this was the single idea that floated round my head for the past week or so:
What He Fears
By J. Emmanuel

We took from him the crown that had long been bruising his misshapen head; aided the wind in undraping the robes from his gnarled and twisted body; pulled out from under him the speckled, rotting gold he said was: just a chair.

We turned away from the wretched heap, taking only what could be retooled, remade unmeaning.

If it is in us to crown kings, it is in us to dethrone them.
