All law enforcement are highly trained individuals who nevertheless must be forgiven any mistakes due to the rapidity of the situation and extreme danger. All other people who fail to instantly understand and follow rapid and contradictory instructions from law enforcement are just shit out of luck.

I don't wanna suggest the Dems are perfect angels or anything. A lot of policy is over-complex ("10% tax credits for people who study accounting and move to Idaho" is sadly only partly a joke). Too many chose not to call out their opponents as the nazis they are for too long. Etc.

I think the problem is voters, TBH. Like, I think the Dems have been slow to adjust to the shifting sands, but we constantly see where voters say they want all this Dem policy stuff and then vote for the GOP for cultural reasons or some shit.

DA's pass on trials all the time if they think they can't convict. Slightly different reasoning, but then this isn't law, this is politics. Impeachment is a *political* act. Anyway, I'm just saying I don't think the answer is clear cut. I'm not gonna argue against doing it, that's for sure.

The argument against impeachment is that yet another failed trial (or trials) in the Senate will make the low info voter think Trump is innocent. I do not necessarily agree with this, but it isn't obviously wrong.

Massie has a privileged motion to impeach Hegseth sitting in the hopper. IIRC, Johnson adjourned the house so they wouldn't have to vote on it until after the mid-terms. So I think that one is gonna happen.

Define "fight". Seriously. These are (mostly) middle-aged politicians. They argue and vote. I get it that voting and courts and parliamentary moves are boring but that's the sort of things that are effective here. They've mostly kept anti-trans language out of a host of bills, for one example.

The kinds of things you want to happen after this election simply *cannot* happen unless enough Republicans in congress decide to go against their mad king. That's not something the Dems control. Not trials, not jail, not removal from office. Find 10-15 R votes in the Senate and get back to me.
