Great to see our latest paper out now @ChemicalScience.rsc.org! We report a halogen and hydrogen bonding-appended diaza-crown ether ion-pair receptor capable of the selective sensing of a dopamine salt through the formation of a convergent biomimetic binding site. pubs.rsc.org/en/content/a...
Graphical abstract showing a diaza-18-crown-6 macrocycle forming a magnifying glass looking into the brain. The dopamine catechol hydroxyl groups form hydrogen bonding interactions with the halogen bonding receptor appendage resulting in an optical response.

Hard to believe it's been 2 years ago since my stem cell donation with @anthonynolan.bsky.social After my grandmother passed away from leukaemia, I joined the register, never expecting to be a match. Aged 16-30? Please do consider registering, it's easy and you might save someone's life!

A lovely weekend walk, escaping to East Hendred to recharge mid-term. Always a treat to explore more of the Oxfordshire countryside.

Delighted to share our new metalloporphyrin [2]rotaxane for the selective sensing of lithium halide ion-pairs, through a Boolean AND logic gate mechanism, out now in Dalton Transactions! @oxfordchemistry.bsky.social pubs.rsc.org/en/content/a...
