Jamie Thingelstad @jamie.thingelstad.com · 09/10/2026In 2018 I wrote about Your Version Number. A few months ago I made a website for it (including a work edition). Then I thought “I wish I got my version number in email” and what if you could add notes for each version! Release Notes This is brand new today. Let me know what you think! 000
Jamie Thingelstad @jamie.thingelstad.com · 08/10/2026Thingy, my digital librarian, got a big improvement this week with a brand new design and moving its reasoning to the 5.5 level models (Sonnet for subscribers, Opus for supporting members). I’m very happy with how this is working now! 000
Jamie Thingelstad @jamie.thingelstad.com · 05/10/2026I was inspired by the time analysis I had Claude do last week on what it took to send the Weekly Thing so I decided to build in some additional logging and a better visualization. Now I get a report like this for each issue I send. WT352 showed some benefits from my new automation! 🪄 000
Jamie Thingelstad @jamie.thingelstad.com · 04/10/2026Had a great time cheering on the Twin Cities Marathon runners this morning! 000
Jamie Thingelstad @jamie.thingelstad.com · 27/09/2026We got the very last of the available Pokémon product at the Edina Target today — and got our picture with Pikachu! 010
Jamie Thingelstad @jamie.thingelstad.com · 26/09/2026I realized I could probably get a data point I’ve never been able to from WT Builder: how long does it take for me to create the Weekly Thing? Turns out I can now answer that. Additionally, I can now evaluate features on how they improve my workflow and time required. 000
Jamie Thingelstad @jamie.thingelstad.com · 26/09/2026I used some of my Claude Cloud credits to put in place a truly secure pipeline for Elixir Collector. Starting at v3.0.0 all releases are signed using a private key that I manage and the entire pipeline is signed all the way to ingestion. It also got safety improvements in the auto-update process. 000
Jamie Thingelstad @jamie.thingelstad.com · 26/09/2026The Radish Farm Stop opened a couple blocks from our house and it is great. Glad to see they are doing well. It made me think of SimCity when a new building is placed and the Sims start showing up. 🥳😂 010
Jamie Thingelstad @jamie.thingelstad.com · 26/09/2026I guess I’m getting my moneys worth for my $200 Claude Max account. "I went through the local Claude Code history on this Mac: 120 sessions and 254 subagent runs from Aug 6 to Sep 26, about 52k model calls. At API list prices that... www.thingelstad.com/2026/09/26/i-gu… 010
Jamie Thingelstad @jamie.thingelstad.com · 26/09/2026It still gives me a big grin when you open a model and then later go to your printer and there is the actual thing in real life as it were. 010
Jamie Thingelstad @jamie.thingelstad.com · 26/09/2026Easy mission: I will use all $250 of these free Claude “cloud session” tokens. 000
Jamie Thingelstad @jamie.thingelstad.com · 26/09/2026We watched Mayday on Apple TV tonight. Fun movie with plenty of action and good laughs. Ryan Reynolds and Kenneth Branagh were great in it. 000

Jamie Thingelstad @jamie.thingelstad.com · 20/09/2026The reward for sending the first issue of your newsletter after a 3-month summer break? More unsubscribes than usual. 🤪 000
Jamie Thingelstad @jamie.thingelstad.com · 20/09/2026Some screenshots of my WT Builder custom app to create issues of the Weekly Thing. This was fun to work on and will give me a great base to build off of as the Weekly Thing evolves. 001
Jamie Thingelstad @jamie.thingelstad.com · 20/09/2026I just published Weekly Thing 350 which is notably the very first issue to go through my new WT Builder app that I created with Claude. It worked pretty well and since it was first time on new code I told Claude to literally watch me use it on the server it was running on and fix things in realtime. 000
Jamie Thingelstad @jamie.thingelstad.com · 18/09/2026Delicious Black Krim tomatoes from my friend Eric. 🍅 000

Jamie Thingelstad @jamie.thingelstad.com · 05/09/2026I’ve had Claude working on a new project and since I have the tokens I’ve used Fable 5.0 for nearly all of it. It has done an incredibly good job with a very complex system. 000
Jamie Thingelstad @jamie.thingelstad.com · 05/09/2026After 20 hours in the sous vides it is time for a final smoke and bark treatment to the pork shoulder. 000
Jamie Thingelstad @jamie.thingelstad.com · 05/09/2026I’ve always taken July and August off of publishing the Weekly Thing. I think I may modify that to taking July 4th to Labor Day off. That is more tuned to plans. 000

Jamie Thingelstad @jamie.thingelstad.com · 04/09/2026I’m ready to call Thingy complete! Thingy is the agent that has read everything I’ve ever published and helps you explore it. I recently added a ton of great stuff, including support for photos and sharing conversations. Check out exploring Ireland and going to Iceland with Thingy. Pretty cool! 000

Jamie Thingelstad @jamie.thingelstad.com · 04/09/2026Tyler has been a fan of AJR for a while now and last night we got to see them for the first time at the Minnesota State Fair. They put on a really good show with tons of energy. We had a great time! Looking forward to seeing them again! 🎶 031
Jamie Thingelstad @jamie.thingelstad.com · 04/09/2026I had an idea to “flip” Elixir, the Clash Royale agent I created, upside-down and open up MCP use — Elixir MCP! Every single part of this I’ve created in other solutions. Claude (Fable 5.0) and I spec’d it out and I put Claude Code in a /loop and six hours later we had a working system. 010
