I can get the matte to work if I specify the object behind him, but whatever I put- the rig name, the folder name, the individual assets, it doesn't matter- no matte is returned. again, I KNOW it's picking it up. I just can't get a matte for it. I've tried everything lol

well first, the cryptomatte ID picker doesn't work at all, so I've been entering in names manually. sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I know that blender IS picking up the asset, because you can see the colours when you plug in the "pick" socket, but the character is a linked object
