Having the (awful) Music app open when double clicking an audio file is such a pain, but it worked. So instead I tried setting the "Always open in..." to QuickTime Player. But... now apparently that audio file that could open in Music could be malware. Another step closer to ditching macOS.

I believe I can judge relative quality of model outputs. Let’s see if it correlates to watermarks when this is actually released.

I disagree, but welcome the chance to try this out with you :)
110
James Wilson @jameswilson.io · 17/08/2026
This has nothing to do with @gruber.foo being upset about LLM usage being more detectable. It has everything to do with the resulting output being lesser quality for the sake of detection. Wrong trade off.

Put another way: Claude already struggles to find the right words to use. Now there’ll be a fixed finger on the scale further impeding thats selection.
110
James Wilson @jameswilson.io · 17/08/2026
Because Claude regularly provides responses that require a “try again, be concise”… and now this water marking deliberately alters the token probabilities in a deterministic way which will mean… less sense from Claude.

James Wilson @jameswilson.io · 15/08/2026
This is cool, but what I really want is “why is Claude being so useless today?!” … what if we could do a quality analysis across transcripts?
