Went to my first tournament with the new phone and the fact I didn't have to carry/charge my power bank at all was great. bsky.app/profile/jame...

Got a brand new phone after 5-6 years and the fact I no longer need an Apple Lightning cable just for my phone anymore and my battery lasts the whole day is life changing.

Finished 10th Place at the 2025 Pokémon VGC World Championship in Anaheim this weekend. Got to do what I love the most in this game which was facing many strong opponents and having intense high-level sets all weekend 🥰

What do you mean Worlds is next weekend???

Got inspired to start practicing for Worlds two weeks before the tournament... Let's see how this goes 😅

Just bought so many games from the Nintendo eShop Summer Sale. I will hopefully play all of them at some point 😅

Was planning on getting a new iPhone this year since mine is several years old, almost out of storage and has some performance issues recently. Hoping Apple makes the new phone coming out this year worth upgrading to or that tariff price hike won't be worth it (ideally no tariff increase) 🥶

YouTube algorithm blessed my timeline today with an introduction to 80's Japanese City Pop Funk

Back from my first vacation in years and I really need to do those more often

I am very glad I decided not to wait and invested in a Macbook Pro last year with all the tariff nonsense

Going to be doing a test pilot episode of a potential brand new series on the YouTube channel tomorrow. Hoping it is well received :]

Almost finished recording all of my videos for April so might have some free time next week. Maybe a return to streaming? 👀

Learning Davinci and scripting is hard but will be worth it. (Also forgot to attach the photo lol)

Reached 50k subscribers on YouTube today. Never thought the channel I made for fun back in 2013 would go so far but here we are. Always grateful for anyone who has supported the journey here and looking forward to making great stuff to push for 100k ^_^

That's crazy. I hope you enjoy the random updates or find other stuff you enjoy on Bluesky (I like it since there's no bots and people are more chill here)

Booked my flights to the 2025 Pokémon World Championship in Anaheim and am glad to announce I will not be anywhere near LAX airport for the trip 😄

James Baek @jameswbaek.bsky.social · 08/04/2025

Also, why is Anaheim so expensive? Even with Disney, I'm paying the same price per night as the 4 star hotel I stayed in Hawaii for a simple hotel walkable from the Anaheim Convention Center...

I have booked my hotel for the 2025 World Championship in Anaheim

This might have been the best season to start taking a break from competing. Been glad I've been saving money with how the World Economy and the markets have been doing...

Played a rematch against a tough matchup in Top 8 and was surprisingly almost able to make a comeback in game 3 against a full health Miraidon, full health Ursaluna & full health Assault Vest Incineroar with a weakened Clefairy, Rillaboom and Incineroar but messed up the 2nd to final turn 😭

Placed 5th place at Vancouver Regionals last weekend and most likely qualified for the Pokémon 2025 World Championship. Played well throughout the whole tour and finally made it into the Top Cut stage at an event this season. Not bad for a break season.

EUIC was a great time. Ate good food, played some great games of Pokemon and had wonderful interactions with viewers and friends. Only thing that could have been better was the tournament start/placement but a very fun and enjoyable event 😁

Crazy how two years in a row, the first tournament of the year I go to, I eat something that causes inflammation on my right foot that makes it miserable to walk. This happened to me in Charlotte last year and of course it happens right before the biggest tournament of the year besides Worlds...

Got top 16 points from the Global Challenge so shot up to top 75 in NA for the 2025 season rankings. Wasn't aiming for my invite this season but might be able to get it at this rate which would be cool if I change my mind later. GCs points are busted (and more fun when Japan is involved)

Global Challenge Experience: - My Nintendo Switch went from 25% battery to dead instantly in team preview in the first game - Lost to a 143X because I missed the first Play Rough I go for that was game winning in my second game I'll be skipping the rest and enjoying my weekend instead lol

Was booting up to record some footage for a few projects but might replay Kid Icarus: Uprising again since I love that game and was talking about it recently with a few friends.

Powered up one of my 3DS's and it's still at full battery even after two+ years while my Nintendo Switches don't even last two weeks without being recharged from not using them. Why is this console so goated

I don't normally check the YouTube Upload Ranking page but apparently every Reg G video I've posted has been a 1/10 which is really inspiring to see 😁

Been seeing so many food warnings/recalls in the past year that I can't tell if we should be happy that maybe detections have gotten better along with higher standards or concerned that food safety is worse or that this has always been the case and we are just finding out about these problems...

It's kinda funny that my last Regulation H tournament set is the unluckiest set I've had in the format but at least I didn't lose a set to Dire Claw Status so that's a win I guess lol

070

James Baek @jameswbaek.bsky.social · 04/01/2025

Definitely takes a lot of getting used to and the use cases. I'm not used to doing fullscreen where I'm the main topic of the video compared to a small portion of the screen for gaming where it feels natural.

010

James Baek @jameswbaek.bsky.social · 04/01/2025

Can't believe I spent the whole day trying to record an update video. Still amazed how tough it can be to talk to a camera in a room by yourself even if I've been doing it for over 10 years now lol

Main reason I'll start using this account is because my Twitter DMs are flooded with bots/scam sponsorship offers making it impossible for me to use DMs while my Twitter timeline is filled with garbage Stake gambling ads, misinfo threads and engagement ragebaits.

Forgot I made this account in March lol. Might just post some random thoughts here or there like the good old days of social media.
