There are these wonderful, surreal scenes where the Red Army storms the palace. Gunfights in the Tsar's wine cellar. Soldiers creeping through the Velvet Jungle of the palace staterooms, using marble pillars as cover.

Duskpunk is inspired by Victorian London, where grueling factory conditions 1) sparked public backlash and 2) made industrialists a TON of money. So I knew I had to put the factory front and centre.

This colonialist propaganda is all over Europe, but I saw it most recently in Melk’s “Baroque Pavilion”, here in Austria. It has a ceiling painting representing the four (known) continents, and the wealth they brought to the Austrian empire.
