I think there's a nonzero chance that Fox agreed to the press blackout because they can read a poll and an approval rating. I'm not sure why anyone on Mamdani's team wouldn't think it's a great idea to get an opponent polling at 29% approval in front of whatever camera or microphone he likes

This is what I kept thinking of when they had the stupid robot that supposedly could outrun world record sprinters. If the track officials said, "OK, now jog backwards to the start line," the human would take about 20 seconds to do it and the robot would need months of programming and rebalancing
