Picasso Quote, After Reuters

A stone with the words "The bad artists Imitate, the great artists steal" chiseled into it. The original credit is given to "Pablo Picasso" but this is scratched out and replaced with "Banksy" ... which is then scratched out and replaced with "David Jones" ... which is then replaced with "Robin Gunningham."

SPOILER ALERT 🚨 Here’s a trio of memes for anyone else processing the Reuters piece on Banksy’s identity🙈 IYKYK… and now we all know 🐵

Update on The Localist for Patrons /subscribers who follow me here: plan is still in place to get the newsletter off Subst@ck for '26. That said, the process is eating into my time to publish regularly... To make up for the lack of new content recently, I've paused Patronage until December.

Missed it the 1st time around, but have been spinning The Lassie Foundation's remastered "Pacifico" ('99) for days now. Sugar-sweet shoegaze at its best. w/ most tracks hovering around the 4 min mark, the pacing is as much fun as the fuzz... lassiefoundation.bandcamp.com/album/pacifi...

Perfect single for the dog-days of summer from M.E. Nezke. Imagine Beck paying homage to Lipps Inc.'s Funkytown with special appearances by a wah-wah pedal and a triangle... 👏 Also: the petition for a 12-19min remix of the track starts here 🗳️ open.spotify.com/track/6geF2P...

Musician Matthew sweet smiles and looks at the camera with his arm extended and hand miming the motion of turning up the volume while the caption reads: "don't be afraid to play it loud!"

Been offline a few days and just now learning the sad news about Pocket's demise 😥. Gonna miss the app as much as I continue to miss rdio. Any suggestions on an app to (try and) take it's place? For context, my Pocket export included 1,294 unread articles and 6,290 more in the archives 🙃
