JamesJ @jamesjcode.bsky.social · 13/07/2026It shouldn't... Can you re-create the issue and file a bug report? 110
JamesJ @jamesjcode.bsky.social · 09/07/2026100% agree. The thing that really gets me is that pretty much every experienced software engineer I know holds the same view. So the fact this is being rammed down our throats is really really odd. Equally I'm all for lowering the bar to entry to technical stuff - but this is a race to the bottom. 010
JamesJ @jamesjcode.bsky.social · 13/05/2026It's really, really, really tricky to package this in a way that is cross-platform, doesn't pick up parts of existing (system) installs, works with user-installed versions (for plugins etc etc), etc etc. That's why we've ditched the Python integration in the development branch (to become v11). 100
JamesJ @jamesjcode.bsky.social · 18/04/2026The key thing is working out what is a limitation of the DRC engine (which will only ever return the top matching rule for a constraint type), and what we can do in the length tuning tools on top of that. My gut feeling is that to get this really good and provide intuitive UX touches both parts. 000
JamesJ @jamesjcode.bsky.social · 18/04/2026Supporting complex cases like this (particularly for DDR busses) is something that we've been discussing amongst the developers as we want to support it. The DRC engine currently, as you've observed, will only match one rule per tuning 'event' (it takes the first that matches in the ruleset). 100

JamesJ @jamesjcode.bsky.social · 22/02/2026Yes please file a bug report @ponderingpothos.bsky.social - we value backwards compatability very highly! 120

JamesJ @jamesjcode.bsky.social · 14/11/2025There's been a lot of work under the hood to lay the groundwork for moving to a multi-project interface, which won't be obvious without looking at the codebase. As you suggest, this involves unpicking a lot of historical baggage. But it is on the roadmap! 000
JamesJ @jamesjcode.bsky.social · 08/11/2025Which particular version? Lots of snapping / grid bugs were fixed in the recently-released 9.0.6 110
