I can Kinda see the Buddhist overtones but honestly, the brutal nature of the “living ecosystem” reminded me more of those 90s cinematic platformers with brutal deaths, games like Another World and Heart of Darkness on PS1. Nice art but too annoying to play and not as deep as promoted IMO

You’ve probably been told this already but IMO, Xenoblade 3 is fairly good as (quite literally) the best of both worlds of XC1 & 2. Deep emotionally earned moments and character development within a densely lore packed mystery of a world. And the DLC even gives emotional resonance to Rex’s personal.

It’s understandable but also BS that this is the shape of the tech as a business. It’d be nice if all the console makers (yes even Nintendo) didn’t have exclusivity and the game tech was open and united under a shared tech agreement like VCRs to Blu-Ray. And while I’m dreaming, fair wages too.
