Currently Reading: THE SHADOW AT THE BOTTOM OF THE WORLD by Thomas Ligotti This is also a reread. This was the first Ligotti collection I ever purchased/read, way back in December 2005.

Currently Reading: GODZILLA by Ian Thorne This is actually a reread. I've been a Godzilla fan since as long as I can remember. Along with Lewis Carroll's Alice, he's one of my first and oldest friends.

Also Currently Reading: MOVIE MONSTERS by Gary Poole This is actually a reread. I got this book in the second grade, way back in the mid-to-late 1980s. My copy is so old and beat-up that it's practically falling apart!

Currently Reading: SHADOW OF THE VAMPUSS by Karen Mahony (writer) and Alex Ukolov (illustrator) This is yet another one of those cat-themed books I've had lying around for years (in this case, 2005, the year it was published) that I'm finally getting around to officially reading

Also Currently Reading: THE OEDIPUS PLAYS OF SOPHOCLES by Sophocles I did read OEDIPUS THE KING Freshman year at Rhode Island College (almost 30 years ago), so that's a reread (though the one I read back then was the Berg/Clay translation). I've never read the other two, though

This arrived in the mail yesterday, a Japanese edition of Huxley's THE DOORS OF PERCEPTION, with Blake cover art and some nice fold-out sections. I haven't read it in English yet (though I do own a copy, which I may read in June), but when I saw this pop up on my eBay I just knew I had to have it

Currently Reading: ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA by William Shakespeare I read just the play itself last year, but I thought it might be a good idea to do more of a deep-dive, and this one has lots of commentaries/essays about the play itself, reproduces the sources from Plutarch that Shakespeare used, etc

Neo-Decadents take on the subject of Readers. I wrote a few words for this one, and as usual, tried to balance out the vituperation with a bit of level-headedness. neopasseism.substack.com/p/readers

Today I rewatched the film INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE (1994), which I first saw over 25 years ago, in the year 2000, otherwise known as my Year of the Goth. Funnily enough, this evening a friend reminded me that May 22 was World Goth Day, which I had forgotten

I often see Hazel on my bed, and less frequently Spencer, but it's rare that I see them both on my bed at the same time.

As a comic strip BALDO is usually insufferably lame (like most modern comic strips it tends to recycle the same 4-5 jokes on a weekly basis), but I'll give this one a pass. Okay, it's because of the lady in yellow, so sue me.
