This is an excellent public service initiative👏. The Urban Archaeological Survey reports are known to be a really valuable resource by archaeologists, historians, geographers & planners. This now makes them much more readily accessible to citizens. 1/2

This Friday @angela-historian.bsky.social is coming to the Waterford Archaeological and Historical Society to lecture about the experienc of Revd Robert Walsh, a Waterford-born clergyman, in Romanov Russia in the 1820s and how they influenced him. St Patrick's Gateway Centre (X91 YX61) at 8 pm.

Wow, the Ardshanbally brooch-pin has really captured the public imagination. It really is a stunning object and a very positive story of close collaboration between the public and private sectors to identify and preserve our archaeological heritage.

I love this a 1300 year-old vellum museum label! Presumed to have accompanied the relics of Brigid, Der Lugdach & Conláed it is preserved in the Abbey of Saint-Maurice d’Agaune in modern day Switzerland along a pilgrimage route to Rome www.museum.ie/en-IE/Collec... 1/2

This is a very interesting thread and fascinating paper. This is also an issue for dendro dating of timbers from early/late medieval structures in southern and south-east Ireland where there can be poor correlation with the QUB Irish Oak chronology
