It's fall, so time to make some fall spice syrup. No pumpkin in this, it has all the warming spices and a mix of white and brown sugar to give it plenty of caramel notes. Toasted the spices for 30 seconds, bring to a boil, then simmer 45 minutes.

My wife continues to annex the room I used to work from home in/guest bedroom as an auxiliary craft room. Finally moved the guest bed downstairs to get this room made up as a guest space. Yes, we have sheets, just haven't dragged them downstairs yet. Blinds are on order, as well.

Tried the Trader Joe's Chili Crisp, and here's my review: It is a crispier condiment, and has a heavy garlic flavor. However, it brings little spice to the party. Additionally, it doesn't have the face of disappointment that Lao Gan Ma has. 3/5 stars
