James @jamesdparkin.bsky.social · 08/10/2026It's funny: His whole rant was "unoriginal, unpleasant, disjointed, and miserable" just like he described TROS 🤭 110
James @jamesdparkin.bsky.social · 04/10/2026The only thing that matters is the end result. In the case of ST, it is still perfectly simple to to trace a coherent through-line of theme & character from one installment to the next, for Rey, for Kylo, for Poe and for Finn. 010
James @jamesdparkin.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Likewise, one's ideas about a movie series are likely to change, as one reasses the 1st production, and *changes* the previous plans, in whole or in part, to support a different vision. 211
James @jamesdparkin.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Many authors *do* outline, but others write by the seat of their pants, and only discover the book in the process of writing it, and the book becomes something quite different by the end. 110
James @jamesdparkin.bsky.social · 04/10/2026All the talk about "no plan" is just a red herring & a false attribution. Do we care whether authors meticulously plan & outline their books before they start writing? I don't think so; all we care about is the finished product. 140
James @jamesdparkin.bsky.social · 02/10/2026"Nice country you got there. Be a real shame if something happened to it." 020
James @jamesdparkin.bsky.social · 28/09/2026I appreciate the change of heart, but I vehemently disagree that the Kylo Ren spewing lies & manipulations based on a Force vision that he clearly did not understand constitutes any kind of "revelation", and it was not retconned in TROS, because the "revelation" was a mirage. 011
James @jamesdparkin.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Twilight is upon her, soon night must fall. This is the way of things. The way of the Force. 010

James @jamesdparkin.bsky.social · 09/09/2026In fact, George appears as a background character in "Revenge of the Sith", Baron Notluwiski Papanoida. 110
James @jamesdparkin.bsky.social · 08/09/2026"High Republic" referes to the period from about 500 bby until the Empire. Skeleton crew takes place in the "New Republic" after the fall of the Empire 🤓 110
James @jamesdparkin.bsky.social · 06/09/2026Not co-equal by any means. The Federal judiciary in particular is subject to legislative control to a big degree. The fact that Congress has often declined to erxercise that power does not change that. 000
James @jamesdparkin.bsky.social · 04/09/2026I'm down. My favorite is peanut butter, cheese, anchovie. Some pickle on that would be good. 000
James @jamesdparkin.bsky.social · 01/09/2026Do you understand that you first have to get your ballot *by mail*? This is exactly what Trump's EO attempts to restrict. 030
James @jamesdparkin.bsky.social · 01/09/2026The problem is, we first have to *receive* the ballot *by mail*. Trump's EO would restrict this to only people who appear in a Federal database. That's the issue. 000
James @jamesdparkin.bsky.social · 28/08/2026I actually reported the last one I saw as CSAM material, even though I know it won't matter. 110
James @jamesdparkin.bsky.social · 27/08/2026Also not my favorite, but I'm not much a fan of anime in the first place. That said, if others are excited about it, I'm happy for them. 010
James @jamesdparkin.bsky.social · 25/08/2026Ich kann zwar ziemlich gut Deutsch, aber BlueSky ist hier irgendwie verrückt geworden. 100
James @jamesdparkin.bsky.social · 25/08/2026I would expect so, but SCOTUS made so many spurioys rulings already, that they do not inspire much faith. 010
James @jamesdparkin.bsky.social · 25/08/2026Yes, but first we have to get our ballots mailed to us, which is precisely the problem. 220
James @jamesdparkin.bsky.social · 20/08/2026As someone who does live on oatmeal (for breakfast), they can take their advice and shove it. 110

James @jamesdparkin.bsky.social · 28/07/2026People also don't understand that the English of Shakespeare's time was much less like modern British English, and more akin to Irish and/or American English. 010
James @jamesdparkin.bsky.social · 22/07/2026The "Chanur" covers sold those books so hard to me, and they became my all-time favorites, the covers & the books. 030
James @jamesdparkin.bsky.social · 19/07/2026That's certainly doesn't prevent them. "George Lucas is a hack" "George Lucas owes all his success to other people" "George made one good movie, just by accident, and it was only saved by Marcia Lucas in the edit" "George Lucas, cannot write, cannot direct, etc... 100
James @jamesdparkin.bsky.social · 15/07/2026Most of the commentors are ignorant dorks, and are just using this as an opportunity to bag on George one more time, as if it made them seem clever. 000
James @jamesdparkin.bsky.social · 03/07/2026It's still showing near me. I'll probably go this weekend. 110
James @jamesdparkin.bsky.social · 26/06/2026The chuds are going to hate on it regardless. "Rise of Skywalker" made over 1 billion, and is still decried as an "abomination" & a "failure". Their fake outrage has no relation to any reality. 010
