A screenshot of a paragraph from Time Magazine's article about their most recent interview with United States President Donald Trump, which reads:

"Since returning to office, Trump has marveled at AI’s capabilities. He is increasingly in thrall to the tech executives courting him. In December 2025, Elon Musk returned to the Oval Office for a clandestine meeting. Trump spent hours asking Grok, Musk’s AI chatbot, questions about his presidency and legacy, according to an official present. At the time, Trump was ordering missile strikes against Venezuelan boats he alleged were smuggling drugs into the U.S. He asked Grok how Venezuelans would react if the U.S. captured Maduro. According to the official present, the chatbot responded that Maduro was a repressive and deeply unpopular dictator and that many Venezuelans would likely celebrate his downfall. After Trump ordered the mission to seize Maduro, the following month, celebrations broke out in the streets. Trump, according to officials, came away thinking Grok was ingenious."

I decided to focus on the games I played in my youth which formed the type of games I wanted to play and, eventually, make. It is an INCOMPLETE list, to say the least. 😅 Check the image alt text for little blurbs about each game.
For "My 9 Games," I've listed the following:

- NHL 95, the first video game I ever purchased with my own money.
- Tom Mason's Dinosaurs for Hire, a 2D platforming shoot 'em up based on an obscure 80s comic that just tickled me so very much.
- Deus Ex, the first time that I realized that you could build a whole damn world inside of a video game.
- Max Payne... I mean, my online handle for fifteen years was "MaximusPaynicus," so of course I'd include this one.
- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, the video game that made me want to make video games.
- Caesar III, the game which ignited my love for citybuilders.
- Zeus: Master of Olympus, the OTHER game which ignited my love for citybuilders.
- Resident Evil, a game I would play over-and-over-and-over with my friend, Malcolm, to see who could grab the better time.
- Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force, one of my favorite Star Trek games and my absolute favorite competitive FPS. Turns out Star Trek + Quake III Arena = great success!

It’s easy to make fun of this guy for this, after the years of transfusions, gene hacking, and most recently, claiming to have had himself cloned so that his clone can mature and he can harvest his own organs one day BUT if he had some eureka moment that gets him to knock this shit off? …good.
Bryan Johnson, the 48-year-old “biohacker” who has infused himself with his son’s blood and claims to have had himself cloned so that he can basically harvest his own organs, has posted on Twitter his first salient thought in a hot minute:

“been thinking things over and wonder if I’ve taken this whole longevity thing too far”

…you cloned yourself to harvest your own organs… like, dude.

So I recently switched my gaming/"developer" desktop from Bazzite to Linux Mint and, uh... I ain't goin' back. Also, I will never tire of bending any OS I use to my nostalgia-addled aesthetic.
Much like he did with Windows 11 before hitting a brick wall with Bazzite, James has reskinned Linux Mint to look as close to Windows XP as is possible.

It was harder to do on Windows.

- $5,627 worth of old game hardware
- $2,115 worth of peripherals
- $470 worth of amiibo, Disney Infinity, and LEGO Dimensions sets

And gerrymandering? That's just how the Tennessee state government operates in the 21st century. Look at the state map in 2008, then compare it to 2012 when they started to isolate Nashville and Memphis. In 2022, they carved up Nashville between three districts - and are doing that now to Memphis.
The 2008 Tennessee Congressional Map, showing how Democrats had five of the state's nine congressional districts.By 2012, Tennessee had begun to redraw their maps so that the five Democratic districts were turned into two: Memphis and Nashville. In 2022, the city of Nashville was carved up into THREE different congressional districts, essentially ensuring that the city would have zero representation which represented the will of the voters. The proposed congressional district remapping for 2026, showing how Memphis is being carved up between the 5th, 8th, and 9th districts.

It's an open secret that the modern US military is built on the back of "the poverty draft." Generational poverty is the US military's most powerful recruitment tool. Hell, tanned burlap sack of sentient smegma, Don Bacon (R-NE), flat-out said as much, which is why he was against loan forgiveness.
In 2022, while stating his opposition to Joe Biden's plan to forgive student loans for military members, Rep. Don Bacon (Republican from Nebraska) said:

"My House colleagues and I are very concerned that the deeply flawed and unfair policy of blanket student loan forgiveness will also weaken our most powerful recruiting tool at the precise moment we are experiencing a crisis in military recruiting."

I've been making an effort to look at social media less. Not only has this been great for my mental health (and, curiously, has increased my reach when I DO post?), but it's given me time to do things I actually enjoy. Like read. I'm already ten books deep into the new year, and it feels great.

3.) "It Gets Better... Except When It Gets Worse" by Nicole Maines
4.) "Something More Than Night" by Ian Trellis

Manhattan U.S. Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman said: "Earlier this morning, the Manhattan Correctional Center confirmed that Jeffrey Epstein, who faced charges brought by this Office of engaging in the sex trafficking of minors, had been found unresponsive in his cell and pronounced dead shortly thereafter. Today's events are disturbing, and we are deeply aware of their potential to present yet another hurdle to giving Epstein's many victims their day in Court. To those brave young women who have already come forward and to the many others who have yet to do so, let me reiterate that we remain committed to standing for you, and our investigation of the conduct charged in the Indictment — which included a conspiracy count — remains ongoing.”
