Reason #47 for why you too should maintain a Python package called "crimes":
An email sent to me from Daniel at OriBridge: Hi,

Chinese developers who want crimes often reach it through unofficial mirrors — you never see
them in your own analytics or downloads.

If there's a paid tier, a commercial licence, or a hosted version behind it, there's
usually a second problem: Chinese companies can't pay by card, and their finance
departments need a fapiao (an official tax invoice) to reimburse the purchase.

We run a China operating company that handles exactly that — RMB checkout, fapiao,
Chinese docs and pre-sales in Chinese.

Two questions, and that's it:
Is there anything you sell around crimes — or plan to?
Would the China market be interesting to you at all?

But we don't spend all our time mindlessly cutting pieces of paper in half. We tend to read text on pieces of paper; and it would be nice if the paper sizes we use were amenable to an aesthetic text layout that is easy to read.

"Oh! but you can cut a piece of A4 paper in half and still end up with the same length-to-width ratio!" I don't care. If I spent all my time interacting with paper by cutting it in half and ogling the resulting aspect ratios of the two new pieces of paper, then that might be a nice property.

This is a hill I will die on: A4 paper is ugly. There is nothing you can do to the text on a piece of A4 paper to make it look nice. Single-column text is either too wide or has margins that are too large, and multi-column text has columns that are either too long or too skinny.

Introducing the Velveeta™ AI Pump-action Cheese Warmer and Dispenser. Don't let the heat generated from those tokens go to waste with the Velveeta™ AI Pump-action Cheese Warmer and Dispenser. I am looking for $50 million in investment.

AI is entering its legacy epoch. We are in a new era of quantum-resilient zero-trust blockchain-native encryption ecosystems that will fundamentally change the trust layer solutions for digital stakeholders. The future is in next-gen quantum distributed ledgers with end-to-end cryptographic agility.

Technical debt? Cognitive debt? Comprehension debt? How about “debt debt”: the debt we’re in because we’re just sitting around talking about how much debt we’re in while the gears of the machine grind unwaveringly onward.

It seems that the only way to get LLMs to do anything is to take the hard work of other people – nice to see that they are staying true to their origins.

I wonder if some weirdo is going to create an auto-cleanroom tool that uses LLMs to duplicate software using fuzzing to test byte-for-byte equivalent behaviour. They'll probably give it a stupid name like ClawdRoom or GPTFuzz or something.

I keep on thinking about this tweet I posted on my (since deleted) Twitter... because, I didn't make a viral Tumblr post about a horse in 2019, but I did make a viral Tumblr post about a horse in 2023, and I keep wondering if I'm four years off and 2028 is going to be curtains for me
A tweet from James Ansley on 29/03/2023 reading:
The year is 2024. Law enforcement has shown up at my door with a warrant for my arrest. Copilot's new "accountability model" has listed a joke tumblr post I made about a horse in 2019 as a primary source for someone else's buggy software completion that ended up killing thousands
