It started earlier than that with an anti Scottish independence team in 2014 who ran Project Fear and were rehired in 2016 to tear the UK out of the Eurozone. Their funding in both campaigns was always hard to pin down and their social media suspiciously disproportionate to the size of population.

Twelve years ago British newspapers were reporting that a Tory PM asked for Russian aid in suppressing Scottish independence. Ten years ago the FBI confirmed that Russia obliged and the hacking poured forth. Twelve years on, someone forgot to tell them to turn off the tap. So the Ukrainians did.
