One thing I will say positively about the current MCU slate is that they do easily recognize which shows were not a hit and don’t throw in references in major properties. The Skrulls do not show up in Brand New Day saying “hello, remember us??”

Finally saw Spider-Man: Brand New Day and really enjoyed it. Having it be a back door X-Men pilot was an interesting choice that paid off. Jean Grey was super cool and well done. So many scenes with references to previous movies and comics where I was like “Destin Cretton knows ball”

Saw the Odyssey in the 70mm format and my jaw was on the floor for every shot of a ship out to sea or the vistas when anyone made shore. Movie also rocked, really enjoyed how explicitly Odysseus was just a proud, arrogant guy who would not get out of his own way. What a blast
