@washingtonpost.com hey I think I found some bureaucratic mission creep, which is weird because i thought that was going to end

@thespectator1828.bsky.social hey I wonder if possibly Freddy gray plays dumb for money and to empower fascists, idk seems like trump’s brain is broken and it’s not even my job to keep track of these things

@thespectator1828.bsky.social hey I know freddy gray thinks it’s an absurd conspiracy theory that Trump is a serial rapist so I guess he just felt compelled to defend the university at the heart of a rape scandal for other reasons

james-reckons.bsky.social @james-reckons.bsky.social · 14/09/2026
Again, I go back to this one because Gray is not saying “I don’t think Trump is a nazI” he’s saying “it’s a laughable conspiracy theory” that he’s a Nazi. what sort of journalist looks at the most powerful person in the world and turns to his readers and goes “stop asking questions about this man”

We’re receiving worrying reports of a guy conveying his message effectively so voters understand the issues, shut it down shut it down

these republicans have been committing flagrant crimes for a decade, is it soft on crime to tolerate them?

Thank god for our fearless journalists keeping the public informed about the activities of various Cambridge professors

@thespectator1828.bsky.social hey is the president brainlessly rambling about the genetic health of a woman a sign of his good health or his non-Nazism? You might put Freddy gray on the case idk

@thespectator1828.bsky.social again Freddy is welcome to think it’s an absurd conspiracy theory that Trump is a paedophile but perhaps he might offer an alternative explanation for obstructing an investigation into trump’s close personal friend, the world’s most notorious paedophile

@washingtonpost.com hey fascist chuds are undercutting military preparedness, exactly the thing people complaining about this name change warned would happen. I personally would stop pretending to be stupid for money but you guys carry on I guess

I am deeply wary of anyone who goes to the French Revolution for examples of political extremeness for reasons Mark Twain clocked over a century ago - the ancien regime was worse, just slower! It’s just elite propaganda to pretend otherwise! “See what happens when the pig-people revolt!”

also yeah I'm sure jeffrey goldberg has a nuanced take on the Palestine issue
from wikipedia; Goldberg, who is Jewish,[6] dropped out of college and worked for a time at The Washington Post.[7] He then moved to Israel and served in the Israel Defense Forces during the First Intifada as a prison guard at Ktzi'ot Prison, where Palestinian participants arrested in the uprising were held.

never letting a mention of hadley pass without reminding people of that time she accused a climate protest group of being hamas, one day I hope to ask her what she meant by this
hadley freeman tweets: kinda interesting fossil free books launched on that particular date, no? above a press release by a well-meaning climate protest group which came out on October 7 2023, presumably in full coordination with the top levels of hamas intelligence, command and control

Yesterday the president said he was ordering non-consensual surgery for trans people, I repeat: why quote this liar in your headline? Why throw his false words at your audience?

@InternetHippo
New right wing thing is describing crimes as generically as possible to pretend like they're not crimes. Someone gets convicted of conspiracy and they start yelling "Wow so it's illegal to make plans with friends now"

“prominent political figure within nuclear armed P5 state is angry about war crimes we ourselves keep reporting on but we’re going to pretend it’s wacky and fringe” is such a weird angle (not that I’m confused about what’s going on)

james-reckons.bsky.social @james-reckons.bsky.social · 14/08/2026
Unserious analysis to pretend “opposing an ongoing genocide” is some sort of wacky frivolous stance and not a) morally correct b) something the economist itself ostensibly agrees with and c) at worst not an unpopular stance among non-Republican voters

spectator.com/article/woul... never missing a chance to share this article from Brendan’s Spectator colleague Shriver, an article which is very difficult to read as anything other than justifying lethal violence against immigrants

Not being facetious but if BP is profiting doesn’t that mean the thing driving up prices is BP profiting? Like could they not, theoretically, eat the costs caused by the war rather than profiting?
