Just saw a Game Dev job listing for an AI company that asks for applicants to submit game prototypes using their image generation tool. You can't use it for free. That sure is one way of getting people to purchase tokens and also to steal their work & time.

Super thankful whenever a job actually lets me know I was rejected. Sending out dozens of apps and getting total silence sucks. Knowing I was in competition with over 300 people really hammers in, "omg that's a lot of people I'm constantly being compared against."

Very fair suggestion! The tick rate on held buttons was too high when I tried, but I could commit the time to add a buffer and slow it down a little. Will help with reducing RSI potential as well.

Ayyy, that's pretty good! Controller definitely gives a big buff in play speed, and I'm likely better at Tetris than most 😅 I should look into input remapping, or expand the keyboard controls to make things a bit easier. I get caught up on rotating vs mode swapping a lot.

+ Warming up by re-making Tetris was a great exercise! I should do more of that. The best experience is in creating. +/- I had an idea already in mind, which helped, but I would like to try and think more about the theme next time. + I gained a lot more experience with Godot!

- I don't have enough sound assets I'm happy with. I'm also overly sensitive to audio and don't want people to be annoyed. - I lost steam around day 6/10. Confidence faltered on the design, and also I needed to relax and get out.

Falling Block Jam post-mortem: + I did it! I did another jam! + I'm proud of what I was able to do. There's something there, even if it's rough. +/- I wound up too reliant on Tetris. The board size, the bag of blocks, etc. It makes the mechanics accessible, but restricted exploration.

Threw together a title screen and submitted my #FallingBlockJam game! I added mines that clear rows in 3 ticks when you step on them, and metal blocks that can't be circumvented. Realized that controllers may not work on browser, but that does up the difficulty 😅 jamage.itch.io/sinking-squa...

I would love if the job market could be less of a comedy, given how serious it is for the people wading through it. Had my first interview scheduled after 3 months of searching, and it just got cancelled because the hirer "wasn't ready."
