Many people across the world will never have the opportunity to visit the museum at Auschwitz-Birkenau, or attend memorial services like yesterday's. That is why I am thankful that a film like The Zone of Interest exists, created in partnership with the Museum to preserve memory.

I'll be writing soon about Ottawa's metro network, both the Line 1 LRT and the heavy rail Line 2 and Line 4, which will use the Stadler FLIRT and Coradia Lint respectively. Here are some sneak preview photos!

An Alstom Coradia LINT 41 owned by OC Transpo in Ottawa, trainset #C8 stopped on the platform at Bayview Station in Ottawa during test runs in December 2024. The platform is separated by a fence from the public, with a sign saying that trespassing is prohibited.

Outside an entrance to Bayview Station in Ottawa, the completed but currently unopened Line 2 platform is visible, with Stadler FLIRT3 trainset #C15 parked on the platform. The entrance is closed off with fencing, and operational ticket machines are located behind the fence.

Looking overhead Ottawa Line 2 from the bridge, Stadler FLIRT3 trainset #C10 is parked at the platform during the December pre-opening test runs.

There are lots of cool buses, but very few are as cool as the double-articulated Trollino 24, made by Solaris in Poland. Instead of a diesel-electric hybrid, this charges itself with trolley poles like a tram, and can run off-wire using batteries. This moves TONS of people!

Went out to Bramalea GO today by bus, I hope to see all the work that Metrolinx has put in to this new station pay off with two-day all way service on the Kitchener line. Current GO Train service from Union to Bramalea is only hourly per direction. More freight from CN Rail than anything else.
