My god this tech is flawless
AI prompt saying "Watching silently — I’ll only message you when QA responds or something needs you." and then later "(No change — staying silent per your instruction.)"

I don’t think Apple News understands what blocking means
Apple News “top stories” page with a story by an outlet I blocked. Instead of not showing the story, It just is grayed out with a “you blocked this channel” message over the thumbnail

Trek is designed with sharing and collaboration in mind. Frequently, I’ve either asked or answered the question, “Where should I go in this city?” Trek is built to be the solution to this question. Whether making a list of places at home or abroad, Trek is your place for your places. 2/3
A title “Share a link to your place with anyone” above a preview of the trek app for a list named “Nice”. Includes a map view of the “Nice” list with a bunch of pins on the map.A title “Collaborate with friends or partners” above a preview of the trek app for a place called “Roseleaf bar cafe”. Includes a card saying “added by jake about 1 month ago”, and a couple notes by different users on the quality of the service and drinks. A title slide showing the trek logo, which is a parakeet, the Trek title, and a slogan “Your place for your places”. Also includes a url to letstrek.app.

I’ve been on the road for six months, exploring some of the most stunning places on earth. I created an app, Trek, that I wish I had sooner to keep track of all the amazing places I’ve been and the ones I still want to visit. letstrek.app 1/3
A logo of a parakeet with the title “Trek”, the name of the app, underneath. Set above a peek of the top of the trek app.A title, “Make lists of your favorite places”, above a preview of the trek app with a list titled “Nice”, a thumbnail photo of a beach, and a description of a trip in the past. It’s a description of the kinds of places the list contains A title “remember your experience with notes” above a preview of the trek app. Includes a photo of a teapot and a cocktail, a place named “Roseleaf bar cafe” and two comments by different trek users. A title “Group by tags to make places easier to find” above a preview of the trek app’s “Add a place” form. The form includes an address field, a place name field, and a picker to choose up to 3 tags for a place. The tags chosen are “Food”, “Drinks”, and “Dessert”.

“You’ll be visited by three spirits.” The three spirits:
Louise, Gene, and Tina from the show “Bob’s Burgers”, outside the restaurant playing music. Gene is playing a keyboard and the others are playing music with their straws as they pull them in and out of their drink cups

Not quite done with setting free tier limits, but it sure feels good to have my first ever production payment and membership go through (even if it’s mine) 🙈 Having never set up payments before from scratch, it’s been a journey. #buildinpublic
A membership settings page for my app, “Trek” showing a “Membership” heading with a “premium” badge next to it, indicating someone is a premium member. A payments dashboard. Showing a set of charts, with payments on the y axis, showing payments over time. At the far right side of the chart is a single uptick from 0 to $2.99, showing a first purchase.

Little rebuild of playtrample.com in React Native/Expo of slowly but surely coming together! Spent some time on the "getting started" guide experience today! Really just working towards a functionally complete V1 before I circle back and work on polish (like the modal experience) #buildinpublic

Inching closer to a beta release to some friends on my side project 🕺🦜
bugs, features, and "next" todo list for my side project, with indicators on which items i have left before a beta release. Beta blocking things include a number of caching bugs, sign up flow, and some list utilities like moving items between lists.

Spent the last 2 days reading DOM stacking context articles and tutorials and my response: z-index++
Meme of car salesman pitching a car to a prospective customer with caption "*slaps roof of DOM* this baby can fit so many z-index temporary fixes in it"

Yesterday, in my spare time, I started rebuilding my beloved (and neglected) playtrample.com for native using @expo.dev, and it's been going well! Nothing in the game _works_ yet, but the pieces are coming together! #buildinpublic
A screenshot of my game, with the all the major pieces in place. It's a daily word game with a word up top (the "active word"), a letter bank at the bottom, and a set of actions you can take on the active word like replacing a letter, inserting a letter, or deleting a letter

Got this bad boi right before sending the "this project is ready for QA" message. I guess I'll just go kick rocks instead of enjoying my evening.
"Error: hydration failed because the initial UI does not match what was rendered on the server." A common error with server-side rendering in react/nextjs that makes me angrier every time I see it

I haven't used the bird site in a long time, but I've always kept it around so I could find accounts I used to follow. I was waiting for some other platform to feel good enough and today I used the chrome extension to find most of my old friends here and finally deactivated 🥳
Goodbye message from deactivating Twitter account "Your account is deactivated."

I always find myself changing the default rem spacing units to px. I don't usually want my spacing units between UI to grow when users scale font sizes github.com/tailwindlabs...
Tailwind config object theme.spacing showing the rem units of 0 to 2 being adapted to their raw pixel values

Can't let a project go by without causing yet another z-index bug
A "zipcode" text input floating of the top of a sticky footer, when it's supposed to be hiding behind the sticky footer, as it was scrolled out of view
