In addition to usual demands of winter, the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank says changes to SNAP benefits mean more people may be struggling with groceries this year. The Freedom From Hunger drive runs through September in an effort to replenish food stores before it gets cold. #aknews

Micciche says the borough will intervene if necessary but he thinks the New Englanders will drop it once they learn how our inlet works

When I was at the Clarion, we tried to be KPen wide so I really pushed to partner with Seward Folly and KBBI so Homer and Seward were included. There’s not anyone left in the game with that motivation. Which is a shame! It was at a Homer forum last year that we found out about Vance’s Letter 🙃

Since talking to Patrick Fowler on Wednesday, the fish counts have gone done, not up. He said that if things don't pick up soon ADFG may take action to protect the salmon that are arriving — the bag limit for sockeye was recently permanently(ish) increased under the king management plan.

Saw The Odyssey yesterday and it ROCKS. People in the theater applauded. Missing my old film review column a little extra today because the way Nolan advances the themes of the poem from a contemporary lens swept me away. Kicking myself for not making the trek up to Anchorage to see it in IMAX.
