I'm thrilled to see the NDP numbers rising and the UCP's falling overall, but it sure is frustrating living in the "Rest of Alberta" and seeing our numbers. 😒

The time change option chosen unilaterally by Danielle Smith, in the face of overwhelming evidence supporting Standard Time, will cause health harms for those in northern AB, specifically. Imagine being a parent in Peace River with a sunrise closer to 10am. Mental/physical health harms, etc.

Has Quebec moved on from the separation referendum in 1980? What about the one in 1995? What makes you think the separatists here would accept the L and just move on? Good god, this woman's hubris is next level.

For the entirety of her time as Premier, Smith has been trying to weaken our ties with the ROC. Looking to pull us out of the CPP, starting an AB police, hamstringing or outright refusing federal government programs... I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting. Add to that everything Max mentions here.

I was on the @ualberta.bsky.social campus today for the unveiling of this remarkable art installation by Metis painter Christi Belcourt. It’s called In My Grandmother’s Time, and it blends traditional motifs from Metis beading and embroidery with digital technology. And it’s gorgeous. #ualberta #yeg
Shot from ground level, a round ceiling mural that echoed Metis embroidery. On a black background, we see a wild rose in tjr centre, surrounded by flowers, berries, birds and butterflies. The mural in context - on the ceiling, surrounded by lights and blond wood ceiling tiles. It hangs above the soaring atrium of the University Commons

I detest the final boundaries map for Lacombe, but I detest even more that the minority report references my submission to the Commission (among others) in their defense of Red Deer spoke ridings that would pull in surrounding rural municipalities including Lacombe. I don't support that move at all.

More than 30% of votes cast in Lacombe in 2023 were NOT for the UCP. When you add to that all of the minors and people who were unable to vote for whatever reason, the predictable "guess they shouldn't have voted UCP" comments are pretty crappy. (This post on Instagram has at least a few of those.)

Do you think Danielle Smith knows the ATA *is* teachers? Like does she get that when she talks about the ATA misleading teachers it makes zero sense? They're not some separate body from teachers like she suggests. I'm glad Schilling pointed out (again) that PEC are all active classroom teachers.

This feels like a Beaverton article. It isn't even so much the part about seats not being able to recline, it's the paying part about paying *extra* for a seat that can recline. What's next? Having to upgrade to be able to use the bathrooms? This is just getting so ridiculous.
