Is Bluesky "dead"? This would suggest otherwise: resourcera.com/data/social/... Is it hard to "gain traction" over here? Maybe, if social media is just a numbers game to you and "success" is measured in reaction emojis and bot views. Is it an "echo chamber"? Maybe...by our own design.

No platform wants you dragging its users off-site. Can't really blame them, but when they actively try to prevent it by refusing to show your friends your links - e.g., to your blog, your books, your art - like Facebook does, then maybe they're rendering themselves obsolete in the long run.

Jane Yolen passed away this morning and I am in deep mourning. I had the great privilige of being friends with her for over four decades. We laughed together, did panels together, edited each other, and eventually wrote a book together. She was my editor for several books . . . 1/2

LOL - I used to say the internet went down more often than a two-bit who--, but stopped - seemed unnecessarily insulting to sex workers.

Yeah, I just tested it with my husband (upstairs, here in the USA), and it worked. With someone in the UK, no joy.

Facebook is down. So's Instagram. WhatsApp may be functional for some, but I wouldn't rely on it for now.

Oddly, the outage seems to have missed WhatsApp.
