Been toying with the idea of heading back to the Bubble for the first time in years, to sell off stuff I'e been mining etc, but honestly the thought sort of fills me with dread too. SO. MANY. PEOPLE. And some of them want to murder me? Like, I'll have to install weapons?! #EliteDangerous

Screenshot from Elite: Dangerous. Taken some kilometres above an icy moon's surface. It's close to sunset/rise, and the local star is somewhat near the horizon. A lot of the ground is in shadow, and the shadows are very sharp (thanks to having no atmosphere.) What's visible is hilly ice of indeterminate colour. A gas giant is a bit more than halfway above the horison on the left, mostly in darkness but with a sliver of the rim lit. There's a couple of nebulae on both sides of the gas giant, and then a smattering of local objects, mostly just tiny whitish points (two of them which are right above the gas giant have tiiiiiiiny little dots neatly lined up around them, ie their own moons)

A cold, dark and lonely ice planet that's 8 AU from its fairly dim M type star. This is about as light as it ever gets – and only in places where you have reflective ice. The temperature's at most 33 K in daylight, dropping to 17 in the dark. #EliteDangerous #virtualPhotography #thePhotoMode

A large crater takes up most of the view of the ground. The band of the atmosphere looks so thin, just barely extending up from the ground. The disk of the Milky Way pokes diagonally up from near the centre of the crater, making it obvious this was taken quite far from the edge of our galaxy

Pretty views on a rocky ice planet with a neon&helium atmosphere. You don't see that combo all that often, it's nice. I keep saying this, but I love it how dark the skies are this far off the galactic plane. It just looks so weird #EliteDangerous #virtualPhotography #thePhotoMode

The planet's tenuous atmosphere colours everything an almost white colour near the horizon, tending towards blue the higher you go. The ground is mostly pretty featureless, but most of it is in the shadow of a huge crater lip that extends far into the horizon, leaving only a sliver of visible ground outside it

I found an incredibly boring planet, which I guess is interesting in itself 😀 It's just this smooth ball of brownish ice with barely any cratering. A few boulders of ice here and there. At least it's got a pretty N+Ne+Ar atmosphere #EliteDangerous #virtualPhotography #photoMode

Found a nice ringed argon atmo ice planet (or moon?) almost 80% of the Earth's size (but only 20% the mass). It has a nice pink tint, probably thanks to the Y class dwarf it's orbiting. The main star is a very bright bluish white class A. #EliteDangerous #virtualPhotography #photoMode

Nighttime, it's very dark and everything tinted a slight pink, probably by the M class star that's much further away. The ground is a greyish (well, pinkish, but you get the point) snow. There's a geysir near the center, throwing material up into the air. A huge moon (well, companion moon) looms in the distance, taking up something like 1/6th of the sky. There are only a few stars visible, but there's a couple of pretty blue nebulae near the center.

Hey anybody else having problems with video uploads on Mu @mu.social (with Eurosky @eurosky.social PDS)? Every time I try it just gives me "An error occurred while uploading the video. Unable to fulfill XRPC request". Looking at the requests it makes, none of them actually fails afaict

After poking around Japantown and Heywood I came back north to Little China, and found this cute 3 storey place near Vic's and H10. Not glamorous, upstairs from some random "adult" store, but there's a small balcony and it's pretty quiet on this side. Big windows, nice but less privacy

This one place down on the waterfront had a nice little balcony (no door tho, so I guess you have to crawl through the window? Classic Night City solution.) Really close to 3 major roads and and kinda boxed in, plus the waterfront area is a bit sketchy. Would be cheap though – I'm no corpo 😀

Because I am Very Normal and I have real friends who definitely exist, I've been apartment hunting in Cyberpunk 😅 Found this one place with a fun oriel window, and the views are OK. Probably not insanely expensive either, being near Kabuki's waterfront #cyberpunk #photomode #virtualPhotography
