I think the hardest part about writing isn't the editing, story, grammar, prose, or characters. It's one day story buzzes in your head like plasma in one of those glass spheres reaching to escape. The next day, you stop trusting your instincts and second guess every sentence. ✍️

Faith is a fundamental part of being human. Write your sci-fi as an atheist paradise, or cast the faithful as fringe zealots, and you've erased something the majority of humans experience. You can write sci-fi that takes faith seriously without writing 'religious fiction.'

I've been writing the same novel for 17 years. Finishing it taught me more about persistence than anything else in my life. What's the longest you've stuck with a creative project?

When a company says their staff have a combined 100 years of experience. That really doesn't mean hot to me. My kids have a combined 18 years of experience, it doesn't mean that I trust them to vote or drive a car.

I can't say enough good things about, A Girl Called Gale by Marcus Kahle McCann. It hits so many points people feel in their bones about finding their place in this world and helping others. See my pinned post for the link. It deserves more attention, repost and share this.

I think sometimes I don't want to admit when I use personal experiences as inspiration. Some others are very open about it. I like how Marcus Kahle McCann creates beautiful stories from his. Do you have an author that you admire in that way?

Just finished the book For a Handful of Feathers, by Guy de la Valdene. He has kind of a unique style, that makes me feel like I'm sitting around a fire pit in his backyard drinking beer with him while he tells me everything he knows about Bob White quail and habitat restoration.

Here is a beautiful children's book that is really something I think should take off. If you missed out on his first book, don't miss out on this one. Kahle McCann's first book (The boy who was fire) is still one of my kids favorites. Still in pre-launch. www.kickstarter.com/projects/-mk...

So random Friday morning thought: If we live in a simulation, and we create a simulation so perfect, it exactly models our reality. How would we know that the simulation we "created" is not actually a view or bridge into the reality that created the simulation we live in?

Maybe I'm weird. But if I'm reading the news on Google news and I click on an article that has any type of paywall, or sign up to read the article, I immediately leave. Like, I don't care if there is advertising but don't make me do something extra to read your article.

When I get up, I let my dog out. Normally she comes straight to the door when she's ready to come inside. This morning she sat on the edge of the back porch and just stared at the crescent moon as it rose over the mountains. Sometimes I wonder what goes on in her head.

I wanted to post a fertilized egg update. None of the 12 eggs I incubated ended up being fertilized. There was no development after 5 days so I cracked them open. None had blastodisc only blastoderm. My trader Joe's eggs are developing well and should hatch next week.

It amazes me when a post goes viral while most comments were kind, people I don't know came out calling me stupid, retarded, and literally telling me to commit suicide. All over a post about incubating eggs that I doubt will hatch, but there's a small small possibility. On 🧵

Alright y'all I might be crazy. So Costco was selling whatever eggs they could get. Blue, green, brown, light brown, and white. I'm cracking open some for breakfast this morning. And I noticed two of the green ones have that little bullseye white spot on them. Might be fertile.

As an author, why is it important to have a profile on every social media site even if it is not active. If someone impersonates you on there there is no way to report it without a legitimate account to go back to.

I candled all the eggs on day 6 of trader Joe's eggs. 19 out of 24 eggs are definitely growing. I have a couple maybes but they don't look promising. Here is one that had some very clear veins. A few of them I could see the fetus moving but could get a clear video.
