I got a BFA in graphic design, and I entered the profession being one of those unicorn type designers who designed and coded. My pretransition self was a lot more passive about the direction of my career and over time I ended up being a developer who knew design more than anything else.

For me, a post-transition resentment that’s come up is how, for the first time in my life, I had claimed agency, and people were mad at me for what I did with it. Relatives who at best were at the periphery or were non-existent in my life dared to tell me what my truth is.
